Hi all!

Hello. Ohio native. Grew up in South East area of the state. Have not grown in almost 15 years. I have my first auto grow going. Never grew autos before. The genetics seem to have come a long way since I learned about them back pre 2010. I'm still more interested in the old landrace sativa strains. I'm thinking that is going to be a summer operation, this year, outdoors.

Welcome to riu! Outdoor landrace sativas won't have time to finish in Ohio without using light deprivation at the beginning of July. That means you'll have to veg for a bit indoors. Last week of May, first week of June is the earliest you can put them outdoors without going into re-veg.

Good luck with your auto! I swear seed companies are just sending autoflower sample packets to everyone in Ohio

Yeah, landraces I grew in the past seem to never fully mature, takes forever to flower. The plan is to start germ/vegging/sexing in March. Might start in Feb now that I think about it..

You'll have to tarp them in July to induce flowering earlier. When you start them makes no difference aside from starting size when you plop them in the yard

Interesting, never thought about tarping. Most likely, they will be a gorilla grow on the edge of a south facing woods. To big for yard. Will have to build separate indoor grow box for them eventually. Always found them great for wake and bake, better than coffee, even if not mature.

Sounds like you need a camo tarp then lol. Just cover them up so they only get 12hrs of daylight. It's definitely a commitment. You have to be there every day around the same time.
