It's good you are going back to your roots, just don't go so far that you end up with horns on your hat!
And maybe storm a capitol when the nazis take over? No, horns are falsely associated with our northern neighbors/enemies/occupiers/friends. My ancestors (coast from southwest of NL to Denmark) were influenced by them. Same gods, but can't worship those, they've been appropriated by neo nazis. My homeland, at times known as Magna Frisia, or viking graveyard, is where the Franks from the south met with the Vikings from the north.

I occassionally do feel this primal urge to braid my beard... but no, this is all just basic history every kid in NL has to learn before they leave 'base school', from age 6 to 12. From Prehistoric times to about ww2. It's all key to understanding Europe and our place in it.

Notice the northern borders of the romans in your pic and the Rhine and Danube river. One can fill a small library with books on the influence of those geographical features. Many battles took places along those rivers, many now large cities were established then (ok, by romans...).

Add the influence of the Franks and Charles Martel, who supposedly prevented islam conquering west europe, and eventually defeated my tribe when our king died ( www.worldhistory.org/Redbad/ ). Charles Martel is the grandfather of the famous Charlemagne (Charles the Great), and when Charlemagne grandson died, his great-grandsons ended up dividing the empire into the precursors of France, Germany and Italy.

This obviously isn't just european history, it's world history. The Franks, from modern day France, a Germanic tribe possibly of Danish decent, christianized by 'Italians'... without them things would be very very different in the world. Overall, probably not better.

The horns might not be historical, unless you go way back, but like the republicans today, the Vikings must wear them...

Hermie troubles…

“Comparing seeds of wild field pansies collected decades ago in France with the plants’ modern descendants, Acoca-Pidolle and his colleagues discovered that today’s flowers are smaller and produce less nectar as a result of increased self-pollination, which has direct impacts on pollinator behavior. The pansies of the past self-fertilized less and attracted far more pollinators than those of the present, according to the study.”

Some days the bull wins!
Paying to watch an innocent animal tormented and slain, is no better than attending a Trump rally. Maybe Trump will flip out on a heckler and do the bull thing into the crowd! He is getting more mentally unstable lately.

Takes the old adage, Bull in a china shop, to a whole new level. lol

Barbaric 'sport' and serves them right.

More uncivilized American behavior!

I sprinkle a little salt on top of the coffee when brewing a pot and have for decades. Does tone down any bitterness. Don't remember the last time I drank any tea.
