That brindle mottling is beautiful. Great job. What kind of bags are you using? Another month and it will be cold enough for my liking to start back up at the barn. Got some great outdoor flavors drying as we speak. Usefuls Bag of Oranges and Blueberries and chocolate I grew specifically to run IWE and roll into balls. Both strains have lived up to their names nose wise.

My oldest tb is 10 months old. Think I'll break a piece off tonight.

Thnx…GSC auto strain, Can’t beat the odor of the Hash after a year, great job on yours by the way I like the way you label your jars…
I had to look those words up “brindle mottling” (I always ask my wife where do people learn these words I don’t remember them in English in school)
But, your spot on…ha ha ha! :)

I simply use my Viper Spectra Bubble bags, only 220-160-25 that’s it. (I don’t go for complete caviar, maybe I would if I was growing pounds and pounds and pounds)?
Pre-chill herb & mix water/ice until 32.5f then add herb stir 1 min. let sit 15-20 min & stir for 20 min or so, drain remove trics & Repeat again two times until I get tired…done.
((just a note I don’t know if you have ever reused your ice water herb, But I’ll take it squeeze out the water and place on top of cardboard until dry and make dry sift hash for the one hitter etc…, I was amazed to see using the 160 µm bag I could get another 8 to 10 g out of 4 or 5 ounces…)).

Forgot to ask, are you going to use a Chocolope type strain, if so let me know how it turns out in a year or less ?

Is there an ideal consistency for temple balls? About 6 runs in now - 5 of them are malleable and somewhat soft after 3-4 month cure. I have one temple ball that's hard as a rock. Is this because of plant material contamination? Or is it normal for consistency to vary?

It has been my experience that when my hashish doesn't stick together well it is because of contaminants. Northwood has said that he has seen this due to moisture. Either or both could be the cause. Thirty six hours doesn't seem like enough drying time to me but I don't know how you dried so maybe. I dry in small Rubbermaid containers with a small sachet of silica desiccant beads and a hygrometer. My goal is to have the rh below 35% in the container for over a week. In fact, I have some in containers that is at 2 and a half weeks now and I am just now deciding how I want to use it.

Since Bagginski mentioned the other guy, Marcus the "bubbleman" Richardson I will admit that my style is a little bit of both methods, although definitely more Frenchy than Bubble man. By that I mean that whereas Bubbleman separates by micron size and is only going to wash a couple of times, Frenchy separates by wash number (ripeness) and says there are 2 ways to tell when you're done, either the quantity collected is to low or you are getting to much contaminants. Myself, I will separate the first couple of washes by micron size and pull out some full melt bubble hash for dabbing, usually in the73 bag but sometimes the 90 or even 120 bag. The rest above 45 microns is used for making my smoking hashish. The 25 bag along with the last wash where I start seeing some green that I just can't wash through is given to the wife to make edibles. (Waste not want not).

The run that is drying now was still 95-98% melt full spectrum (45u to 159u) on the 5th wash but on the 6th wash there was a lot of green.

One other thing, you only mention 2 bag sizes. In my washes I still see a lot of contaminants even in the160u bag so I throw that in with the 25's and last wash.
so the ideal separation is 220 work bag, then 190 to get rid of more plant matter, then a 160 bag to get 160-189 for edibles, then run a 45 bag to get 45-159 which will give me approximately 95 % full melt? Then a 25 bag to get 25-44 for edibles?

trying to use as few bags as possible while getting the majority of the best all into one mix.

Not sure? But if it was high quality & had moisture in it then placed in cellophane which I don’t believe breves, thus it would stay wet it might be real gooey down the road even moldy???
Not saying you did that, but I always let my ice water hash dry for at least three days before reheating rolling and finally into a ball then I placed it in parchment paper not cellophane.
I wrap parchment paper uptight around the ball and put it in a dark cool place… in a jar but open the jar every couple of days for the first two weeks then once a month for a few months & then I leave it alone, of course that’s only if I’m aging it !

I recently bought a set of Vortex9 2.5 gallon bubble bags by Cloudious9. I didn't need the 5 gal bags due to my small time growing. My question is, what is the minimum amount of product I can use for a batch of hash? Thanks in advance!

guys one last minute question, i will work with a washing-machine as frenchy... would you drop the plant material directly into the mashine (into ice water) or would you cover it with the 220µm bag?

I prefer no bag, the material flows much more freely which I believe contributes a much more gentle wash and less contamination. The machine does clog up from time to time though but nothing too serious, I either blow into the drain tube or just scrape the bottom around the agitation plate with a spatula

No minimum, less is more when it comes to quality. I mean if you have less than 7g it might be worth just keeping it frozen until you have another 7g and doing it together, it's a lot of work for small a small return, but hey, if it's a rainy Sunday and ur bored, wash away my friend
