i thought decarbing in the oven was the surefire way for stank? or no?

Put in a mason jar, or get a Pyrex with a silicone lid. We have this thing. I've used it to decarb, and it works great with almost 0 smell. I still use the oven to decarb tho. My wife doesn't like the flavor of the butter with all the terpines stuck in there.

Man, I bought one of those, tested it out and the temp was so far off, I boxed it back up and returned it. I was bummed. I was excited about it. Now I have a magical butter decarb box. It works awesome. Just a silicone box with lid.

about seven hours, three hours longer than my original estimate. I stopped after all the buds were off and cleaned before trimming

Man, I bought one of those, tested it out and the temp was so far off, I boxed it back up and returned it. I was bummed. I was excited about it. Now I have a magical butter decarb box. It works awesome. Just a silicone box with lid.

Temp on mine is pretty consistent. I only use it to infuse. I can put the metal part with the lid in the oven, but I only trap the terps like that when I'm making a tincture.

decarb question (i'm a virgin): the first ounce came out pretty green on top, brown on bottom. it was loosely broken apart; did 240* for 45 minutes. should/can i break it up more and run it through a second time? i was assuming it would be much more evenly cooked, but i think it was user error and i over-packed it.

i have a second, separate batch that's currently going at 250* for 45 mins. i ground it up more, and then it only filled the cup about 3/4 full.

Yea when I do it grind up like a little less than you would for a joint and I like 235 for 40 min 250 is ok but little lower sweet spot. Risk burning flavors. Also for stronger edibles infused for 6 hours instead of 4.

Yep. Aboutapound for sure.
Back in the day when i used to get away with trimming wet, did it for years, a five gallon bucket of trimmed wet buds, a couple inches from the top, ended up being right at aboutapound once dried.
