***May have found my problem....run off of 5.5ph!!!!!!! NOT GOOD....any advice for a quick fix during flower, instead of a topdress that takes a while to get in the rootzone deep enough to fix my problem??? I was 5.9 ph second to last feeding. I dont know WHAT the hell happened. Unless it had pockets of fert hiding that got activated and not flushed when i tried fixing it in vegging, when I overfeeding and had some problems...
Yeah, about the leaves....Did a heavy defoliation, it was really congested, leaves were also variegated from a ph malfunction. Clipped 2/3 of fan leaves that weren't producing much, if any at that point, photosynthesis wise.. would have been hurting if anything, needed healthy new fans on her..they were beat up pretty bad...I've pruned 4-5 times in the last two months, heavy, and it springs back very quickly, full and congested everywhere, everytime it fills back out...doesn't even wilt after prune, strong plant...I did it a week before flipping to 12/12, hoping it would recover like usual...I still have about a 1/3 of the fan leaves, all the top ones and a few lowers, they're just small still, growing out...this scrog was fimmed in 6 spots. It got away from, had to do alot of pruning for it to even grow and breath properly.
Adding a few picks of when she was still healthy in veg, before I had to chop alot off, due to an overfeeding, flush( where my ph issue started at) and then letting it recover....it never recovered fully though, to the point where it looks like it does in these pics...got about half that health back after a month, kept pushing variegated leaves, and then I flipped it to flower...did a top dress of FFOF a week before flower as well, had been vegging for 4 months, medium was hit besides nutes I'd been adding. Was doing everything I could to prep it back up before flipping to flower.
I've got 340 watts total(true watts) 240 in the long one, 100 in the spider farmer kicker I have at a slant...have a dimmer on main light, they tacod the other day when i turned em up, werent ready for that much intense light yet...dont think its the light distance...they released back into formation with good margins after turning the lights back down...the last pictures are from today, filling out a bit, leaves are....wish the buds would catch up...have good trichome so far though, that's a plus...
.....yeah, ultimately I agree the fan leaves are needed for bud formation, the solar panels of the plant as they are usually referred. I think someone said that up top as well.
I usually lollipop as well, but had problems before flower. So thats why all the small shoots are missing...I was just hoping there would have been more fan leaves grown back by now, per my usual prune Ive come to depend on, tried and true, with as vigorous as it sets back up, bush wise, but this time it did not "set back up", per say...Might have pruned to close to flowering this time. Usually never have a problem with them regenerating quickly, within 2 weeks a full bush, frfr. That's why I top dressed after it didn't spring back as usual, thought it might have needed some natural boost again, instead of shocking it to with more veg nutes before flower...i was already way behind schedule from getting it back to health, may have rushed into flower a week early before it could grow fans back....well see what happens...I have a ways to go...it usually finishes, this strain, in 10 weeks or so, flower time...sometimes less, sometimes more...still getting larf. Chopping that shit off lol...it comes in masses with as much as this plant was fimmed....I over did it...messed up some shoot formation. Stunted some leaf formations on certain shoot, Not all, after feed issue...I monster cropped like 3 in the middle. Other worked though, so well see what comes of this beast...
.....thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate all of the feedback as of yet.
Sincerely, Jess Filson
