The call here was "This place is so fookin small let's make it nice...". As a result...we remodeled the kitchen and the bathroom just prior to/during Covid. The county offices were closed so we ignored the permitting and did what we wanted to do. It used to be they'd come and look once in awhile but now they do everything from Google Earth/etc. Got my latest tax bill and gained 150 sq ft...sq ft ....so they are now taxing me on a "non-complying" room they said was "illegal" previously. Thanks folks!

we remodeled our one bathroom in february 2020, finishing on the 24th. just a couple of weeks later, ohio's governor started shutting stuff down. we had to run to home depot for one thing, can't remember what it was. but the line was around the store, one in one out, and we spent two hours there that day. we were beyond lucky to have finished when we did. we would have been using the backyard otherwise!
