Played one of the city courses yesterday. After 5 hours and 16 holes with 3 groups waiting on the 17th tee we left.
Seldom have I seen so many bad shots in such a relatively short time. Balls were flying everywhere[except the proper fairway].
We were hit into 3 times, almost hit from errant shots a couple of more times. On top of all that there is a frisbee golf course mixed in with the regular golf course. Some poor souls [idiots?]were trying to play disc golf amongst the carnage.
From what I've seen your average snowbird needs to take up bowling instead of golf. They need to go home now.

I spent 30+ years in Vail. Worked on the ski hill for years in Winter...and at a local golf course in the Summer in my early years there. (mid 80's-late 90's) I got to see it all.

Rich doesn't automatically mean smart. I have far too many stories of folks skiing into towers/lift maze ropes/into closed areas/falling off the chairlift/hanging off the chairlift/getting hit by the chairlift (those old double chairs when you had to pay attention) and other sorts of fun. At the golf course I've seen carts fly...carts in the river...rolled carts...naked strippers...kegs in carts/cocaine snorted in carts and other highly-buzz-fueled fun.
"We'z on vacashamum!" "Are there laws in Vail?"

I didn't buy gloves or hats or goggles for years and had a bench in the hallway that opened that was full of such things for folks who came to ski and didn't bring something... LOL. At first I took everything I found to "Lost and found" but after it became a weekly thing...I just started my own found and found. :D

Mornin.... looks like another far too warm day here. Gonna start hearing "Red Flag Day" soon if we don't get some moisture....and it's all downhill from there. We've owned this place for 10 years and have seen 2 major forest fires on the Sangres in that time. Hayden fire/Decker fire. We were on pre-evac for the Decker fire for 6 weeks. Super fun to go through yer shit and decide what's really important and what's not...

Hayden 2016 View attachment 5373087 7-8 miles south

Decker 2019 View attachment 5373088 Northwest of us...burned from Sept til a good late October snow/Winter put it out

Still a few months of "Winter" to go...but so far early March is looking dry. March/April are our biggest snow months.... supposedly. (there is rain in the forecast for Tues. but not a lot)

Looks like other areas of the country are seeing the same basic thing. Yikes. Just yikes. But the climate isn't changing...it's all a ruse.
Wow that's to close for comfort
