I'm a believer in the AC Infinity fan/controller it's so convenient. You can definitely cheap out on the tent.
for 420 you can get an xs 1500 for only like 65. so 2 for like ~130. Would I need to get two of the hlg for good coverage in a 2x4? Might just be a little out of my price range.
60” tent will be more than enough even for photoperiod strains. I know… Do like 3-4 plants.
You would not as the light has two quantum boards on a rectangular heat sink so they are built for a rectangular growing space. It a quality company and a better light IMHO. Yes, it will cost more but lights (and soil) are where you want to put your money.
Thank you guys for the info! I think the HLG is the move then honestly. It mentions that it is not recommended for veg and this is gonna be my only light. Do you think I will have any issues?
I run an HLG Veg Pro 250 watt for my seedlings and it's a bit of overkill for my 2x4x8 tent but it gives me the ability to veg if I need to.
I veg under my Scorpion Diablo X which has an even larger red spike. You'll be fine.

HLG knocked it out of the park for me on a warranty issue. My light was still functional so they sent me the brand new light (new version) and included everything it comes with (retail boxing etc...) and even paid return shipping so I simply packed up my old light and mounted the new with zero hiccups and not one down day. They are great.

What's your growing medium? Have you checked your cities water report?
I had a Mean Well driver go bad that was way out of warranty and they sent me a new one no questions asked. They are awesome.
I am going to be doing fox forest 50/50 happy frog and ocean forest. Then im gonna top dress with dr earth homegrown during veg and then flower girl during flowering. I haven't checked my cities water report though. What should I be looking for? I do have brita filters I can use.
Personally I would go with the 260.
You'll want to know about chlorine/chloramines and Ph mostly. I just moved to the city and whilst I never had a problem with water before, I do now that's to our medieval infrastructure. It's probably fine right out of the tap but you should know if it is or isn't. My Ph is 9.2 out of the tap and that's a goocher.
my current plan is to wait a month ish off the soils nutes and then top dress with the dr earth home grown + ewc for veg, 50/50 homegrown and flower girl + ewc early flower, and flower girl and ewc for flowering and do that every 2-3 ish weeks based on the how they do. credit to another user on here
