Coco growers. Do you transplant?

Reading Cocoforcanna, the idea of transplanting for better root development seemed logical before I really dove into it.

Do those of you who grow in coco transplant? If so how many times? CFC recommends 3, but if you’re topping an auto that last transplant seems like it would come real close to the time you would want to let the plant recover from the stress to the time you would want to go to the final pot size.

I start in root riot plugs then go to 4" pots and finish in 6" pots. The beauty of coco is that the container size doesn't seem to matter as much as soil IF they are getting plenty of nutes. Go as big as you can afford and have space for, but I haven't had issues in my little 6" pots.

I germinate in rapid rooters, place in solo cups as soon as they sprout, and transplant to 2 gallon pots at 2 weeks.

Depending on what I've got in the veg tent.

But typically I'll bang a rooted clone in a small plastic pot with holes in, then pot up to a large one, bottom 3rd is drilled full of holes and a week or two before flower slap em in a 5gal fabric.

6” pots for me would be less than ideal with my schedule since ill be hand watering. That size pot would need several watering a day. A positive to a 3-5galb pot would be that I could get away with the 2x per day watering that I need to be at

root clones in root riot plant into 1 gallon pot veg 8 wks fed 2x a day then 6-8x a day at flip to flower. 2.5x2.5’ canopies. No transplants. Constant source of dissolved oxygen.

Used to do 3 gallons but found this better. The 3 gal didnt help avoid a auto feed system and was much more work.

Root cuttings in solo cup, veg until full of roots then transplant to 2gal final pot, 4 of those per light. I used to go solo to half gallon to 2 gallon final container but havent noticed any difference by skipping the half gallon.

Is there a good DIY here for an automation system? Working 12 hour graveyard shifts leaves little wiggle room for watering insane amounts
The floraflex stuff is great. It's super simple, looks great, works great, and it's relatively inexpensive. Definitely check em out. Trust me. Welcome to the RIU Peer Pressure club. The sooner you give in, the easier it will be for errbody. But seriously, it's great stuff and to piece together a system as a "diy" you'll be hard pressed to beat them and theirs looks and works better.

LOL you forgot to give the link to the site!

I use them for automated irrigation mixed with some regular sprinkler parts. Their bundles are a great way to buy. No affiliation just very happy with their Floraflex cap system
