Prep for Flowering

Prepping for flower. Gonna get rid of everything below my SCROG. I wanted to wait for the 3rd plant (3rd picture) to grow a bit more before flipping, but the other two are getting pretty tall. Also not sure if I’m noticing some type of nutrient burn. I feed with Jacks 321 at 1000 - 1100 PPM. Always have about 16 oz run off.

All those tall tops, bend them under the screen now or they will reach to high. That’s the point of the mesh. Fill all the empty spaces. You want it to be flat now.

This is probably the best I’m gonna get them. There is little room left. I’m probably gonna defoliate some stuff later today than switch the lighting to 12/12

I gave my plants a flush because my PPM levels were around 2,000. They are now around 1,000 - 1,100, but my ph is really low around 5.6. I water and feed around 6.5 every time. I also noticed some type of deficiency. I’m not really sure, but I’m thinking either nitrogen or Cal/Mag. I’m hoping to flower this week, but I wanted to make sure everything looked good before doing so.IMG_3208.jpegIMG_3210.jpegIMG_3211.jpeg

Coming to the end of week 1 of flower. With the noticing of either nutrient burn or Cal/Mag deficiency or even both. I’ve only watered/fed one time this week. It was with nutrients at 50% and added Cal/Mag

Coming to the end of week 3 flower. Going to start cutting all the undergrowth soon. These are 3 different strains and the stretch are not even, but I think they are coming out good so far.

Here are the after results of some defoliation. The back of the tent was difficult for me to get to so I did whatever I could.IMG_3238.jpegIMG_3239.jpegIMG_3240.jpeg

great looking plants! Although, those traces on the leaves...they probably need nitrogen and potassium
Thank you! I've been adding Silica Blast into my feed for about 2 weeks now. I cut back on my Jacks 321 feed because I started noticing burnt tips and figured it was nutrient burn.

Thats got Magnesium issues on bottom photo.
I thought so as well. I've been adding Cal/Mag into my feed at 1.5ml per gallon once per week. But I feel like these plants are suffering from nutrient burn as well so I don't know if I should lay off the nutes or continue with just Cal/Mag and Silica Blast and get rid of the Jacks 321 for the rest of the grow

Why are you feeding cal/mag too? You already have loads of calcium nitrate using Jacks 321 part B, and should be using epsom's salts for the magnesium.
??

How were you getting 2000 PPM (EC 4.0), when mixing 321 at the proper measurements usually ends up being around 2.0 at full strength? You mean the run off tested that high, right?

You probably need to flush the heck out of the medium, and get rid of any toxic buildup. Water\nute solution alone likely won't cut it though, and you probably need to bust out the good stuff. Flora klean or something like that. Jacks is salty!

I flushed right before flipping to flower, and my runoff was around 1100 PPM, just tested my run off again today and at 1300 on one plant and 1700 another. My PPM going into the plant doesn't even touch 1000 PPM. I don't know why I always end up with high PPM. I also make sure to get around 32 ounces of runoff as well. I have Clearex I can use next time they need water. What PPM range should I be looking for?

In flower a good safe range is 900-1200

Thank you! Just don't know why my runoff numbers are always high when I put way less in and get a good amount runoff so no salt builds up. I'm thinking it's the medium I am using. FoxFarm Coco Loco. I think I need to switch to a straight up coco medium with no amendments in it what so ever

Why you getting 32 oz of runoff if you are using coco or peat you should only runoff up to 10-20% of the water you fed to the plant so if you fed 1L of solution runoff should be about 150ml. I wouldn’t be surprised if doing a half a gal of runoff could be costly or even damage the microbiome in the medium

I would worry more about flushing it proper with the clearex solution. Before chasing the runoff or really changing anything.

Even at the low levels, it keeps accumulating.

No bro any nutrient in the soil will eventually be used by the plant after 30 days at most, you probably getting high ppm in runoff because you accumulated a lot in the soil and it needs to slowly get absorbed by the plant or runoff. It could just be simple math at this point, remember if you have 2000ppm in soil and feed 1000ppm your runoff for the first runoff can’t be lower than 1500 or so. If you have a really high ppm soil or you are close to harvest and need to start flushing asap just flush the soil with 10-20 gal of RO or distilled water and after that your ppm should be pretty low close to 0-100

I really appreciate all the info. Maybe I shouldn't feed with nutes every watering because it seems the plants are not using all the nutes by the time I water again. So I'm gonna flush the plants to get them in the 900 - 1200 PPM range. Then give them straight pH'd water till the runoff PPM dips below 900 PPM.
