you can complain all you want but its not going to change anything.
people will continue to ask the same questions over and over
answer them or dont, easy as that
lets try making statements that aren't obvious. people like me are going to keep complaining just like people will continue to ask the same questions over and over easy as that

I'd rather see noobs start new threads, why are us experienced growers even here trying to help noobs if not to answer their questions or to see them through a problem, the most fun i get from being here is helping noobs,it makes the hobby so much more of a community instead of the lone wolf skulking around in the shadows type shit that we lead in real life.

Plus & ive said this before in a thread directly to rollitup the man that the search function on this site is one of the worst ever, the grow faq is not the massive wealth of information that it could be either,it has some good information but in no way is it a cure all.

Another problem in searching for specific answers is thread derailment,by the time a thread see's 20 or so posts there are allways 5 different topics, its kind of a take the good with the bad sorta deal, were not heavily moderated & that makes for an interesting forum but it also leads the search function to pull up a thousand posts that dont hold the correct information.

I say fire away with the new threads & forget the search function

go read the FAQ and stop complaining

i think potheads are lazy. i've never had any problem finding what i need. it's a lot easier than explaining the problem which is always followed up by a response like "it depends" or "send more pics"

what would i need to go read the faq for? i'm not the one making new threads about old shit. the only threads i make now are general information ones

I agree with this also. Ive gotten specific help on specific things concerning my grow because I was able to ask exactly what I was trying to find out. So honestly the thread thing is really an ingeniuos idea i think whether an accident or not...Check out toke and talk for some insane threads. Hang out there if u dont feel like helping someone out. I personally enjoy helping other growers myself. It helps me to learn.

I agree but only to a point, what i agree on is the lazy aspect, with the internet comes the speed factor where some people want to ask a question then kick back doing other things that interest them, while the people taking the time to do the research for them do all the work.

This has an added benifit for the guys giving the help, there has been many times where ive been trying to help somebody who's clearly lazy & in the long run i ended up learning something new,or somebody else joined the thread & took away the information they were needing,i'd be willing to bet it's more helpfull than harmfull in the long run because thebasic info is allways there for people who do search & read.

The redundant threads keep the basic information that is extremely important to noobs in the forefront of the forum,it also keeps basic grow skills fresh on members minds.

point well taken. but regardless, i want to see more diversity. i mean probably everything is exhaustive but i haven't seen any new info than 3 weeks ago

I think one of the problems is that if you ask an original question then few people have a good answer for you. Your topic gets ignored and falls off the list while people answer the easy questions. I don't know if there's anything that can be done about that though :|

ya the search engine is kind of jacked up on here. Sometimes it works good but sometimes if brings up a 100 page thread in which frankly if it took you to what you searched for great, but often times, you need to read the 100 pages of crap to find nothing.

lets try searching threads and tags before we make another post. chances are the question you ask has already been answered 1000 times if not by other members than the grow FAQ makes me sick seein the same threads day after day
i didn't realize they put you in charge. your server getting full, or what? this whole forum is based on "questions and answers". if i wanted to go to faqs i'd just go buy the book. this type of complaint is 10 times worse then the duplicate questions. lol :weed:

dudes been here for 2 months and thinks he's seen it all, over and over again. HELLA funny.

i've seen 3 of these threads alone in the past 3 weeks.

why don't you write us a nice tutorial so we can go ahead and post it in the faqs section. :)

I hope that if I ever get experienced at this, (growing not posting!), that I don't disappear up my own arse like so many seem to!;-):peace:

A little tip for searching the forums is to use Google - seems to work better than RIU's engine. Put this in the field: "site:rollitup.org" and whatever terms you are looking for. So a sample search would be:

site:rollitup.org wardrobe lights
