I don't trust RealGorillaSeeds because my friend had a Freezeland S1 and some plants flowered automatically. As far as I know, Freezeland should not contain auto-flowering features.

Flowered under 24 hours light? It shouldnt providing it has plenty of root space and high light hours it does have semi auto traits so less /rootbound and it can bloom i know that much ive only had good experiences with there gear myself so far

Anyone know the best friesland or cross (or other strain) that actually does well DURING winter COLD, not just flowering early before winter sets in? Muchas Gracias!

I'm looking for frost-tolerant strains to grow in mild norcal winter (couple frosts per year, but sw exposure brings me many warm afternoons throughout fall/winter)....I'm curious about this R2 or any Freis/freezeland stuff...anything you recommend? thank you..

It smells like "dutch genetics" but there is some brown sugar and pine in there! Spot on description. Maybe even some very slight turpentine. The "pine" smell in the Friesland isn't anything like the Pine Sol smell from OG/Triangle Kush varieties. This is my first time growing it so I don't know what it's like after the dry and cure. I have also never smoked or grown the original SSSC Friesland so I don't know how this version compares.

I suspect the Friesland I grew is made from (Durban x Skunk #1) x Hindu Kush or Afghani using Dutch lines.

Yeah in og its more like pinesol vs straight pine like some cleaner stuff

Tis rumoured by some old heads i know to be a balochistan hashplant line but no one knows for sure of course

I harvested the top of the Friesland Indica plant from Kwik Seeds posted above at Day 63 and it still had the 'brown sugar pine' smell, but out of curiosity, I let the bottom of the plant go a few days longer, 66 days, and it lost the smell. It just smells like like a box of Crayons so I harvested it. I associate that "box of crayons" smell with Dutch strains and I do not care for it. Based on the pheno I grew it's probably best to harvest between 56 - 63 days for the pine. Your mileage may vary. I still need to dry and cure to try and bring out the best scents and flavors. I'll report back.

Update: The Friesland Indica plant that I harvested after 63 days smells like turpentine / varnish after slow drying for two weeks. However, it still has the 'Dutch genetics smell' in the background but it's more turpentine in the foreground. I still need to cure them and I haven't smoked any yet. I'll report back in the future after I smoke some.

Edit: The same clone outside stretched quite a bit and is now showing the first signs of flower formation today, July 23, 2024, at 44° North.
