LST early flower

Any recommendations? Should I defoliate at all? Everything is opened up pretty well but I still feel like there's not a lot of light getting to the inner nodes. Or is that not really necessary with all the tops that the LST creates?

I dont do outdoor but heard sunlight gets pretty deep with minimal training. That looks more than open enough, hell, more than my indoor plants lol. Nice job! Its gonna grow pretty nice given its got enough sunlight.

I did outdoor once and not enough sunlight. I yielded more in my square foot cabinet lol. Talking about actual sunlignt exposure, I only had direct sun for few hrs a morning.

I just finished my first grow which was indoors. I had six plants and I know I didn't have the lighting correct and by the time I did I think it was too late. This is my first outdoor grow. I just hope I can get this one in before the weather gets too bad in the fall. Just started to flower this past week. One of the biggest differences I've noticed so far, with the exception of the size, is how close the nodes are together. I read some other posts of people talking that's because of it the correct light makes the nodes shorter.

Is it an autoflower? Those make sense in areas that dont work like mine, I was in the green house til mid december with a space heater in there lol. Wish I knew about autos at that time.

Yea some times its sativa genetics to have long nodes or just genetics in general. Yea I just got better about light exposure and dialing in and making better canopies.

Getting a bigger tent and better light was mostly key. Although I got better at my 2x2’ canopy plants this round. Im getting rid of those for bigger tent/better light though.

I don't defoliate my solar panels on my indoor lst's and I'm happy with the lower buds. Though I never tried defoliating my lsts, lol. I think you'll be good. Just don't let any leaves or branches touch the dirt. Looks like you have enough airflow to avoid mold imho.

Oh yea I was very excited about autos but then realized there is alot you cant control or keep with autos. I do perpetual clones and make all flower/dry sift rosin only.

Even if I smoked Id like to keep producing the same stuff and have a small space looking for new strains.

Its predictable and a big load off stress wise you just keep repeating what you did last time if the grow method you use is up to par.

Id hate to be left with a big bag of something I dont like. Im a heavy user and like results I can sleep to and plan according to.

The only real thing I thought theyd be good for is the veg time but clones freshly rooted can flip in sog. Or after 30 days veg, two weeks veg, whatever you want.

Its really a space and plant count thing, you may not have much of either. I have to follow plant count. If neither mattered then heck yea Id grow anything.

After doing things the way I decided to I just want to grow more clones and make more of what I already love lol. Perpetual is a hard bond to break.

Never defoliate because all the leaves are essential for absorbing light and storing moisture/nutes.
The leaves such as the fans will die off naturally, and then you can snap them off.
The buds will receive enough light past a leaf which is also a source of energy.
Defoliating actually damages the plant plus they will tell you what's going on with your plant, such as too much N or not enough.
When I 1st started I pruned/lolipoped and finally came to the conclusion that all it does is make the plant look cool.
If you doubt me and you have more than 1 plant, mangle one and let the other run naturally and you'll see what I mean.

You can go overboard for sure but selective pruning and defol indoors is fine and better. It doesnt need all its leaves but dont take em all off.

I didnt prune at all or defol and it just covered other sites. This time I did and itll make sure it finishes in 10 wks if thats when it finished before.

Them lowers with no ppfd can get stunted it happened in my 2x2’s. Finished a couple wks late. It should be good now that I pruned/defol a little.
