Fluffy white ??mold?? floating about and evident when changing water, visible in filters and tubing.. Looks like toilet paper disintegrating.

picture attached.... H2O2 wont kill it, but I know bleaching the system does, but don't really want to do that at this stage of the grow.

you will have to entirely flush and clean your hydroponics system, this seems to be white mold that grows on water with nutrients and is very common. if left untreated it can kill your whole crop. I would remove the plants from their planters and move them to another water source not connected to this system until it can be cleaned out fully and then gone through a test run. Good luck on finishing out your grow!! :bigjoint:

you should also wash/flush the roots themselves, as the mold is likely inside the planters too

I do dtw coco so I work with reservoirs and I get fluffy wet toilet paper like goop. Is that the same? If so I chauked it up to bacteria poop. Even as sterile as I run things with pool shock some of that still appears.

It would be waay worse if untreated which the smell gives it off as bacterial. My runoff reservoir wave maker gets clogged with it even though I shock the hell out of it, enough to change the color of the plastic.

Just my two cents could be wrong. When I touch it between fingers it dissolves to a clear slime.

I had assumed it was just white mold because hydroponics systems do tend to grow mold or algae due to the nutrients, but I've never had experience with DTW or any advanced hydroponics systems, so it could be something else entirely.

Pretty sure the white fluff is indeed "white water mold". Decided to stay away from bleach, so I'm currently flushing the system with 1250ppm of H2O2 in the recirculating water. Plant is standing by on the sidelines watching.

Oh wow I never heard or seen that before then again dtw its always fresh if used within 7 days. Mines gone by day 3. I couldnt do dwc Im only able to do hydro with pool shock or my reservoir would never make it.

All nice and tidy this AM. pH stable at 5.7, new nutrients have TDS at 865, ORP at 297, water temp 69.4F., chamber 78F., %RH 68%., H2O2 at 45ppm.
Plant is loving life ATM. Roots look good, so I've allowed the bottom half of them to be in contact with upper water level. Hopefully a concentration of 25~75 ppm will keep the "white water mold" at bay.

That's cyanobacteria, or brown algae, aka slime. See Heisenberg's bennies thread at the top of the forum. It can be challenging to eliminate. Best of luck.
