Newbie needs advice

So guys, I am coming here today to ask for a piece of advice or oppinion about when to harvest my plants. First of all, accoring to the producer, these plants are ready to be harvested after 9 to 10 weeks and this includes both vegetative and flowering stages. So, from the sprout until the plant is ready for harvest it passes 9 to 10 weeks... Mine are in week 11 and they do not look ready to me.

Now, I also know that plants may need more or less time than what the producer says so I need to determine at what stage they are.

It is super frustrating since I cannot make a quality photo of trichomes. Also, plants are not instagram worthy... Yeah I know that.

This firs one is actually different than the rest, really small plant and she was the first to sprout, so she might be in week 12. 20240728_112556.jpg20240728_112704.jpg

Here are the other ladies.

I will try to get better pictures later on...

Looks like more time.
Are you growing indoor with normal day light?

For yeild, you might look at lighting, they make fertilizer called grow dots. Complete fertilizer system start to finish.

As I have written before, I use daylight during the day and artificial light at night. And I am not concerned with yeald since I am a super light smoker. I take two puffs and I am done :)

I am thinking they will need like 4 more weeks...

Can't wait for the smoke report do you have a plan in mind for drying?

They look 2-3 weeks out to me. Like you, I only need a couple hits of today's weed and I'm done. If you're the only consumer, consider taking 1 down per week and gauge the potency for yourself. The 1st close up pic looks like a candidate for early harvest (although diminished potency). My kids and other family prefer high octane so I go for peak ripeness and temper my intake accordingly but I see no problem with early harvest within reason .

I am "planning" to dry them and put them in a jar for curing. That is how I did it last time. I mean, this question will sound stupid... but... can you even smoke it before it is dry and cured?

Yeah, the first one will be ready for harvest sooner, but it still has some white pistils so I am going to wait a bit. I am actually not in a hurry, I am more "afraid" that I will f them up by waiting too long because they are already flowering longer than the producer says they should.

Yes...just do a rapid dry. Put in front of a fan or something like that to speed the dry. It of course will taste like shit and be harsh...but it will give you a good indication of potency.

There are a few different methods for drying quickly you got a cable box take a bud and put it on the back of the cable box for a few hours and as previously stated it will taste like s*** but I do like the fan idea

Cabel Box... I would have never thought of that.

BTW, In a situation where upper buds are ready but lower seem as if they need more time, do you harvest upper buds and leave the bottom ones until they are ready? Is it even possible to harvest like that?
