As I topdress the beds, sometimes I find some grubs. I toss them in a pile and the birds eat them when I'm gone. Last week I went out on the deck to have a morning cup of tea and I found a grub on my chair. I thought it was the birds leaving me gifts. It was not. It was the wasps either giving me their rejects, or stealing pupae from the other nest and bringing them to me. I let the wasps live around the deck because the kill every bug on my plants. I see them attack ants. Little dicks. But they must appreciate me not killing them.

I caught one in the act yesterday. He carried this all the way across the deck and put it in my chair.

That is one hell of a plant support system.
I used 1.5 by 1.5 screwed into landscape timbers and 200 lb test fishing line.
With two VB plants in pots I used upside down tomato cage and will add bamboo poles as needed

Here lies Grape the Rainbow, and mocha berry. Both succumbed to leaf septoria. They were treated with arbor weekly, and sprayed with sulpher twice. To no avail.

On a brighter note, everyone else is doing well.

Mother of berry looks like it's been flowering for weeks compared to everything else. And even though it was right next to the mocha berry, it's barely effected.

Just to show everyone the difference in growth between a 5 gal bucket, directly in the ground, and in ground raised amended bed.

These are all from seed, the same strain. Went outside the same height and same day

Cloaked Aurora (nl x romulan)

First, the 5 gal next to the in ground



In ground is a bucket taller, and a lot more bushy

Now, let's take the bucket over to the raised amended bed.



Twice as wide, and twice as tall. About 2 buckets taller than the container plant. Amended those beds kids!

I have a few container plants in 5 gallon fabric pots. Two are burried in cement mixing tray the rest are in ground. What we found with bamboo in pots vs in pot burried in ground. Was the above ground always needed more water and the root mass was unhappy since it was exposed to a swing in temperature.

Sorry for your loss! Sometimes you can race the septoria to the finish line and harvest some decent buds. I had an early finishing sativa a few summers ago that was 3/4 defoliated bud I still got 400 grams off of it. But I can understand wanting to remove those plants.

Oh no!! i’m afraid I may be next..some of my plants are effected from top to bottom, but the lesions are still very small and no yellowing as of yet. it’s definitely spreading though. my pineapple chunk is pretty much unaffected with just a few lesions towards the bottom. What made you cull those plants? did the septoria completely over take the plants? or was it more a not worth finishing type of thing?

I've ran both of those strains indoors, and these were just testers to see how they fare outdoors. I didn't really expect the grape the rainbow to make it as long as it did out there. I had higher expectations for the mocha berry, just because it was bred by copa.

All of my strains outdoors this year are untested to the elements by me. I expected to lose a lot more, but the rest are proving to be resilient. We will see what becomes of them as they flower.

The septoria was all over the mocha berry, and I think it just spread to the grape the rainbow because it isn't very resistant to begin with. The only ipm I didn't try was copper fungicide, I'll give them all a spritz today. Better to chop two now then watch all 11 get infected

I hear that, i’m gonna continue defoliating what I can, and hope for the best..it’s supposed to rain here for the next three days after tomorrow :/

Don't give up! I have had some ragged looking plants that I have gotten worthwhile harvests off of. Culling plants doesn't matter where I live because it is everywhere. Just note which ones do better against septoria and grow/breed those strains. Some plants just don't do well in specific environments , just like in vegetable gardens and orchards.

thanks for the motivation! yeah, I was gonna move the pineapple chunk away from the rest but said why bother as like you, it’s freakin everywhere! would be happy if I just got a harvest from the P.C..

I just ordered some 500 ppm hypochlorous acid, and I'm about to order a generator. Here's some info, but basically this stuff kills everything fungal, mold, or virus. It's also been found to break down the waxy coating on mites and disrupt their cellular processes.

Suppose I told you there was one ‘fungicide’ that was completely organic, absolutely safe, could be safely applied to pistils, or ANY stage of growth…right up until the day of harvest…in fact you could use a dilute concentration to replace Hydrogen Peroxide in you post harvest bud wash...

This stuff will end septoria, botrytis, and powdery mildew on contact. To make it yourself, you only need distilled or r.o. water, and table salt. You buy a little electrolysis plate that plugs into a USB and it's done in 5 minutes.

Tomatoes are finishing up, I thinned them out a bit to let some light in.



I think I'll put them where the failed guinea pig hay experiment took place.

After a few days inside, they ripen right up.



Making the last 2 batches of pickles today. Then it's on to pasta sauce and salsa.

Kitty wouldn't get up to help water this morning. We took a long hike yesterday. 2 miles to a waterfall. There are 2 more about 2.5 miles up the trail, but kitty was spent and we were running out of daylight.

That mother of berry looks to be a fast finisher, only because it triggers early. She looks to be in week 4, most others are just brushing 2.

Yes, lots of people. They swear by it and use it right up until flower. It doesn't burn the pistils, and completely organic
