ok so i'm basically almost 3 weeks into flowering and i noticed a "ball" on one of my plants. now it has regular buds on it also is in the same space with another budding female. i looked around the plant and couldn't find another sign of it being a hermaphrodite. could it have been just an anomaly on the one bud site or should i cut that plant down not to risk pollenating my other plant? help is much appreciated. thanks

if its clearly a hermie i would pull it dry the flower smoke it and use the rest for hash or butter

the buds are barely big enough to smoke. i breaks my heart to do it. they are my babies. you know how it goes. you love em and feed and then they turn on you like the bastard/bitch it is. my first grow from bagseed. guess i was lucky to get one female out of the two plants.

it is actuall called 'interesexed'-seen it alot-usually during first three weeks of flower and maybe towards the end. u wull prob only get a dozen or so-they hide on the lower branches at the node of the bud tucked away-u really got to get a long thing stick or something to pry open them leaves that cover the node and look. u should be ok if you vigorously pick them off. when u see one, spray with water first, than remove with plier not scissors, and immediately dunk them in water. than respray that area. also if there are more than a few, you will have to cut off your fan so you wont circulate any pollen from missed ones. have had it like this past several months and still only have found 2 seeds. now if ur plant goes full hermie, which means they are everywhere, than that is a diff story

wrut alls that have to happen is one sack slightly opened it the area and his whole crop is seeded if he doesn't want sensimela then go for it.
if u can segregate the Hermie to somewhere else in the house altogether go for it and cut the balls as they come

have found that to not be the case at all. plucked many already open male flowers with pollen on the leaves beneath it and have found maybe 2-3 seeds. pollination is not as easy as everyone thinks.spray the entire plant with water-water eliminates the pollens potential. unless your plant went full blown hermie, which I have had happen, it is a diff stpory. even with the full blown hermie, she only managed to impregnant herself and not the others she is with

wowzies, couldnt have figured that one out. thanks! 2-3 seeds will not hurt the thc content of the plant whatsoever. u never had a bag of exo's that had one lonely seed in it? guess not, you must be the marijuana guru of all time.

But the point is... is that really necessary? Is one or two seeds going to bother you that much to freak out about it? And lets be honest- getting a couple seeds from an already dank strain is never a bad thing. Now you dont have to worry about keeping a mother going forever. If you have to stop growing for whatever reason, you can pick back up when youre ready with the same strain, and a feminized seed!

And I dont see any wrong information posted... He said he found 2-3 seeds. He never said that it was sinsimilla.

right, with 56 posts, u must be the pro. have had some plants with many several male flowers and yet no seeds. cut the fan, pluck them off and spray down the plant with water.

A few balls is fine, and 1 or 2 seeds isnt really gonna effect anything.
Yup you can just pick em off every day or so which is pretty painless, but hugely boring on a big plant, or you could get some dutch master reverse asap, a provided youre not too far into flowering it'll sort the male flowers, re-apply 10days later and the hermie tendency should have been removed/lessened.
If i ocassionally get a hermie, i save the pollen to use on other strains

Youre taking everything to an extreme. The pro's pull their plants if they get a hermie because they are pro's. They do everything by the book, and since a hermie CAN pollenate a female, they remove it. That doesnt necessarily mean that the hermie WILL pollenate the female. Thats the difference. For a pro, it may not be worth it to keep a hermie, but for us backyard growers, who put a lot of time and effort into each plant, it may be worth it to keep the hermie simply because of how much work and time it would take to replace it.

The point im making is that just because a hermie CAN pollenate your crop doesnt mean that it WILL, and even if it does, its negative effects will be minimal (only a few seeds), and youll still have the entire hermie to smoke.

I'd rather pick a few seeds out of some bud and have an entire nother plants worth of weed to smoke, than trashing that whole plant just so i dont have to pick a few seeds out.
