i can't seem to get rockwool down, can i use rapid rooters in this set-up? does anyone on here use them for just a typical 5 gallon dwc bucket grow

rapid rooters will work fine, what problems are you having with the wool?
Are you putting a layer of hydroton on the bottom of your cup below the rockwool so the wool doesn't get oversoaked?

Yeah, I used rapid rooters or rockwool with no problems.

What seems to be the problems you are facing??

BRO check out my diy hydro thread in this section.PEAT plugs are by far the easiest to use in this setup.Wool can be used to.But the plugs come already pre-phd. So you dont have to worry about pre-soaking and oversoaking issues. I just got done explaining the entire process.

how should i layer the hydroton, any specific way?? im doing 5 gallon bubble buckets? i heard the only thing tough with these are keeping the temp down in the bucket? what are good temps to be at?

78 degrees is ideal I have found.. Unless u have a cooler ur going to need to keep ur room temp around here with little fluctuation.

how should i layer the hydroton in my net basket? should i fill it then put the peat pellet or rapid rooter on top?or should i layer the bottom, then put the rapid rooter, then more hydroton on top?
