Yes, white powder nutes are so 10 years ago. Amending your base media with dry organic amendments is where its at these days. No more playing bench chemist every time you go to water your plants.
And oh ya - improved Aroma and Flavor profiles to boot!
P.S. Can you believe Hydro-Gardens bit the dust????
I looked at your diary.
You only use organics. But many of the ingredients are unfamiliar to me, because we don't have such things for sale or growing on the streets. Palm trees, for example, you can't find them here.
From your soil composition I know only perlite vermiculite and EM 1. If I am not mistaken, it is a microbiological additive based on fermented milk bacteria.
We sell it here.
In organic substrate we usually add biohumus, vermicompost, and Guano, only ours is not from bats, but from chickens. It is sold in the store in dry granules.
Guano is usually added closer to flowering, because it contains phosphorus.
But as far as I'm concerned, I'm more inclined to KNF. You've probably heard of KNF. A friend of mine has been growing on KNF for a long time and he always has beautiful plants.
Many in fact cause serious issues in the water and promote root rot. About the only exception is humic and fulvic acid and even those don't dissolve worth a damn.
to be honest, even mineral fertilizers in DWC often develop fungus... slime... etc. You need to wash the tank regularly from time to time.
And organic fertilizers+air+water are a breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria.
I believe that in DWC you need to use those organic fertilizers that are fungus themselves and their action occurs exclusively in a very humid environment. We talked about EM1 above - this is suitable for organics in DWC. Also, the above-mentioned method of growing KNF, there are exclusively components that are originally fungus and this fungus counteracts harmful fungi... mold. I am not a big expert in DWC - these are my assumptions.
As for powdered organic fertilizers that are sold in stores, I do not really trust them, because now they add chemicals to all products. I think that in order to have real organic fertilizers, you still need to be a playing bench chemist.))
