Thanks for looking.
Dwc hydro white widow. Problems with water quality so last bucket filled with distilled and jacks at 700 ppm. hydroguard at 2ml per gallon. 60% light at 14k lumens. 70 started to burn tips and canoe. roots bright white bucket temp 65-67 2 open hoses for agitation. Ph of new bucket adjusted to 6.0 20 hours later adjusted up from 5.6
Problem is continuing stress on fan leaves only has not spread to new growth.

new growth.
Thought issue was calcium. Have very hard water and a descaler making water EC variable. Have sent water to Jacks but in nean time using distilled 0 ec water.
Any suggestions?

I’m not a hydro guy, but, if you’re using distilled water, you’ll have to supply ca and mg. Old damage won’t get better.

update
My problem is that the pictures look like cal def, mag def, qnd a fungal issue. Starts with small brown spots on fan leaves and progress to major damage and leaf necrosis in about 3 days. Running out of fan leaves. I do not cull until leaves shrivel.

Non fan leaves are not getting this
Changed bucket nutes with distilled niether slowed or increase pace.
73 degrees 61 RH good circulation vpd hangs 1-1.1 Roots clean and white.

The problem started at 76.2 f and 70% RH. I had noticed some white spots on tent walls and tiny white spots on leaves both fan and new growth. I needed to get RH down to 60% and on VPD chart that means around 72-73. Various university programs on cannabis state 70-85 during veg with no problems as long as vapor pressure is correct. 3 days ago I wiped down whole tent with apple cider vinager and treated plants with neem oil. No signs of white spots on walls or plants since. PM was very small outbreak and I jumped on it right when I saw it.
I did notice something this am. I have a home built panel in my tent deviding upper and lower to keep my bucketd cold. I used wood and mylar and stainless steel hardware in construction. Now ai noticed my " stainless steel " upholstery nails have a ring of rust under the top of the nail head.
Can rust migrate? This panel has 80 upholstery nails in it

The higher the temp, the more moisture the air can hold before condensing.

After some more research I am going with a rust disease. I no longer think it was PM as it was never dust like always a dot of white that I could brush off. Will cull any leaf showing signs and have a sulpher burner on the way.
Hope this fixes it.

Jack 321 does have cal/mag but it’s acting like a buffer in distilled water. Leave looks deficient. Calcium, Mag and maybe Nitrogen in my opinion. They make a jacks RO if you plan on continuing pure water.

I am confused. Jacks 321
  • Which Jack’s fertilizer(s) should I use to feed my cannabis plants?

If you are using a pure water source (reverse osmosis, distilled water, or rainwater) we recommend the 3-2-1 program or the 12-4-16 program. If you are using any other water source (well water, municipal water, etc.), send a water sample to the JR Peters Laboratory for a full nutritional analysis. Once you receive your results via email, you can send them to our Technical Specialists at [email protected] to get dialed in!

I run masterblend with RO and have to foliar spray epsom or add more mag in the soup to not be deficient. From what I understand LED needs more Mag never looked really into why..

My guess was the RO water stealing cal/mag to buffer PH. But either way I think they need more mag. I bet you would benefit significantly starting with a higher PH or adding some cal/mag or tap water to bring your ppm up to at least 80 before adding nutrients.

which mAsterblend product do you use? is it used with a salt carrier like jacks? I have the ppm on all nutes for what I mix and would like to compare what bag or bottle you use.

4-20-39. This is what it looks like for ratios but I seem to fall short on mag at some point. I am in promix with added perlite. Struggle to keep runoff PH decent unless I buffer my RO.

Where is that first badly damaged leaf on your plant?

After I decided it was a pathogen I defoliated and took out to the garbage as to not spread the spores. I am dragging the tent and plant outside and running a sulpher smoker and then a wipedown.
I agree that I had nute problems but after going to ro the plants look better but still got infected. The nute issue caused the stress opening up the plant to disease.
Learning so much.

Ok I see the issue. You are in soil I am hydro. The static ph idea in hydro requires a monitoring ph system or hourly adjustments. It is recommended in hydro to roll your ph from 5.5 to 6.5 as some nute uptakes are PH related. The key is tayloring the time it stays in this ph range based on what the plant is doing. I have not been very diligent in my ph tracking I just was waiting for the drop or the top to adjust. Another hard lesson.
Byw I can not say enough about the we strain I recieved. I can not believe I have not killed this last plant

If it was low on the plant, with some cold and lower light that will inhibit P uptake so you lose lower leaves. That's why I was wondering if it was lower down.

O sorry no I know how the leaves died. oldest fan leaves with largest spread got sick first. I thought it was specs of PM but it would brush off and then a black eruption would start. It spread as a rusty looking blight like high ph beans will get.
so far no growth less than a 3 inch leaf spread has been touched. It looks like a sog net canopy with defol at flower.

Had this issue with hard water as I live in the city, I just bought a garden hose filter with the smallest micron filter I could find and changed the water. Had to wait a week or two for the plant to recover but I still use those filters for my 4th run and that problem hasn’t returned
