Purple stems bad?

I've looked lots of places over the internet and I hear different things about purple stems. I hear it could be the strain or it could be a nutrient deficiency if plants look healthy don't worry about it but I want to know what the fuck it is I guess cuz when I look up the strain it doesn't say anything about purple stems and everything I've grown I think towards flowering all get purple stems even outside except for the OG Kush didn't I guess I don't think. I just think I'm missing something in my soil I think the plants should be bigger than what they are I know it is goes by the environment the room size and all that but still that being said I think they should be bigger I mean I've got the ceiling space I've got probably 8 ft ceilings or so ish I mean I have the lights lower than that obviously and I use 5 gallon buckets. I'm new still so I mean this is in the like my third grow inside but now I've got them to where I've got three flowering right now and then 2 in veg and I've got two seeds germinating right now so I'm trying to keep it going. My soil recipe is just something I've put together after reading different sites and is 1 big bag of potting mix, bone meal, blood meal,bio-char,epsom salt, dehydrated chicken shit(not much cause it's hot),garden line, perlite, then I add a small bag of mother Earth groundswell but I can't get it at Walmart now so I got some rejuvenate potting soil instead and I add some Marine cuisine. I want to get some kelp meal but around here it doesn't seem to be available that Ive seen anyway.. am I missing something? I'll add pics.. my one plant looks really good and they all look healthy I just feel like I'm missing something. The one plant that looks damn near bare is an OG Kush I cloned when it was just starting to flower so it's just coming out of the stress period and is getting the normal leaves finally so I just trimmed it last night. The odd bar looking shit in the pics are just my camera being shitty and busted my plants aren't in jail haha

Too low temps can also cause it, what's yours?
Exactly however some stuff has it genetically and isn't a deficiency or cos of cold some Indian strains will naturally have red stems for example there is no one size fits all awnser op you just gotta take it on a strain by strain basis sometimes it's cold sometimes it's a phosphorus deficiency other times it's just a genetic trait like take blueberry that always had stripey stems regardless of temps or feeding Ime for example

I know the plants origins are master kush,Hindu Kush, and skunk #1.. seems like the leaves are kinda lighter green than my others too

I've two strains living from one root ball, one plant has red stems the other has green it's not that one's right or wrong its just individual character afaik?

If the plant looks healthy I don't get too concerned about the colour of the stems.

Skunk is always meant to be lighter green genetically Vs most things so that can influence things a bit that way if it's in the mix also another thing is skunk and it's hybrids can show what looks like blown out leaf tips again this is genetic not feeding cos it can show it early ie before you have fed it good it's just a genetic quirk of that strain or its hybrids

I remember back in the day when GG4 was super popular, this one guy was like "All these guy's claim to have the REAL gorilla glue, but if you ain't got the red stems, you ain't got the REAL gorilla glue!!!"
I have people say "Oh man your stems are red, you need phosphorus" or "you need calmag" but the strains they said that to me about, I grew regularly and they always did that so I never paid it any mind and they always turned out good
I think it could be genetics or a sign of something. ✌

Definitely mate some stuff just has colored stems some stuff don't without a deficiency it just depends on the genetics

Sorry I meant to check this sooner I just get very overwhelmed with doing so many other things I forget.. I was just about to post a video about the same plant.. I watched a review about the strain not long ago just to get some knowledge I guess, but i did hear the guy say that its a mix of master kush, skunk #1 and another kush i cant remember maybe hindu kush. That could explain the light green but shouldn't it be bigger all around? Leaves and all? Idk maybe I'm just paranoid because I had a plant last year(think it was my 2nd indoor plant)that got mites then it was stressed from those and it hermed on me and it looked absolutely horrible and that's kinda what this plant is reminding me of when that hermed plant got mites. I've checked it a lot and have taken preventative measures with all my plants to help that not happen again. I'll post the vid(not sure where to post it yet)and maybe you can tell me if you think I'm nuts or whatever for thinking something is wrong. Hell I thought it could be root bound so I fixed that too maybe haha.. I appreciate the help man

Kush strains are dark sometimes almost blueish green kinda dark Ime so it's proly from the skunk side of things if it's lighter in colour from the start

Your soil mix looks really rich, but you might be lacking potassium or magnesium. Purple stems can sometimes indicate a deficiency in those elements, especially if the plants seem healthy otherwise. Have you tried adding liquid micronutrient fertilizers? By the way, the plants look great, especially for your third grow!

Well I took a video to upload but I can't do it because I got to put it on some other site first and I'm not I don't know where to put it I'm not I don't post shit about weed on any other sites so I don't know where to I don't know how to do it so yeah there goes that I guess lol. But yeah I have a few other plants that are darker it's just the only one that's really light so I was just I'm still new at this and now I've got I'm getting to the point where I've got too many plants almost I just just got like three death Star plants so yeah I'm getting a little overwhelmed on top of everything else I do I need to come up with some kind of watering system or something but you got to have money to do that so I'll figure it out I usually do I appreciate the advice or knowledge however you want to look at it

That's probably cuz it was wet I mean I make my own soil I put what I put in the soil there somewhere on one of my posts actually I just got some mushroom compost which will help with the potassium and stuff I use a lot of Fox farms liquid fertilizers like grow big and tiger bloom and there's one more I use I can't remember the name of it but yes I appreciate it Now I'm getting overwhelmed with plants I've got too many now I think this death star better be worth it That's for sure lol

I haven't figured it out yet either, but it definitely shows up more in potted plants. When I grow a plant outdoors directly in the ground, they don't get red stems, not even in late flower when temps drop below 50f. When I grow cuttings of those same green plants indoors, the red stems show up no matter what I do, especially on the plants that have purple flowers.
I suspect it has something to do with the growing medium. Almost every potting mix has peat moss, which acidifies the soil and locks out calcium and magnesium.
Ive noticed that increasing potassium helps but it doesn't completely stop the red stems.

My lights are off until midnight but after that I'll check because I think my o.g Kush has green stems but I know what you mean for sure.. I bought some mushroom compost to help when flowering I'm gonna mix it with my dirt at some point I'm just always behind doing stuff

"Wow, sounds like you’ve got a whole farm going! Mushroom compost is awesome, should really help. Curious to see how Death Star turns out—hope it’s worth all the effort!

I'd look at the plant as a whole if it's growing healthy and not slowing down and has purple red stems I'd not be worried but if it's slowed down leaves look off it hasn't grown for a while no taking up water and you've got red stems you've probably got an issue ..... most times I've had this problem I've brought the temps up higher and upped the calmag dosage .... it's always worked for me
