I was looking at a 350 diablo (new version of the 350r with reflectors) at a local hydro shop the other day and noticed that they have totally changed the diode mix on the boards, from what I believe was a mix of 5000k 301h and 301h evo chips to what looks to be a mix of 3-3500k warm white, 5000k white and 301h evo mint white as well? I pulled up their website and I couldent find any mention of the change or reasoning for it, but I did notice that if you zoom in on the pictures of the 350 diablo and 750 diablo it does have an obvious checkerboard type pattern on the boards. I went ahead and got it so I should be able to hang it up tomorrow and take some par readings and compare it to my pre reflector 350r's. Still seemed kinda weird that they didnt do any sort of announcement, when they changed the board last time they werent all coy about it...new wider blue! Personally I like warm white and am intrigued by mint white so I think it could be great but love to know more.

Bought a 350 Diablo with the same boards as in the pics.
Just had an older scorpion Diablo bite the dust, and it was replaced with the new scorpion Diablo. On the replacement box it said "mint" (as well as "refurbished" but that's besides the point). Also surprised they didn't announce anything about this

They are the new qb592 diablo v2 or v2 but yea they have the evo mint and warm diodes. And also I believe better K light temps. Wish hlg would add some supplemental light. They fucking love red for sure. Its apparent no one has any fucking idea going on in photobiology lol. So why not experiment I love trying different things every grow.

Just source the diodes you want and try it out. Hlg came out of diy but are now a regular light maker. If you just learn to solder (use some aliexpress for training) you can do any project you like

I miss the days when hlg sold diy lights. Still running 8 boards I put together from 2018.
They still do really, they have single boards and heatsinks. But its so stream lined now the lights can only really become one thing in the end.
Hoping to have something quite special with regards to spectrum and diy-iness by next year; going into prototyping this next month :) keeping my updates to my home thread "the chinese knock-off" thread in order not to spam it everywhere.

I was wanting a cpl 60 watt boards they had a few years ago. Wish I would've bought 10 or so.

Have you ever tried going rhe china way? Theres loads of stuff about in alibubbers.
Hlg boards are 35 for board only with a nice red sup. Im pretty sure rhe boards only would do around 60w with no or minimal sinking.
If not look for larger boards in china with less wattage per board. Theres so much about to try.
