Today, surprisingly, the morning is very quiet and calm, even the wind has died down.... It's like there's no war.

Kokopelli has heard my prayers. The election is over....
Tell me what you know about Kokopelli LOL

He is a local god of the ancient ones who lived here long before the white people came. And apparently he has a big dick! LOL

Sorry, it was an American translation... probably it didn't work out well.)) It's all Google.)))

I won't write about Yarilo.. Because you don't know who Yarilo is.)) That's why Kokopeli.

My knowledge of this deity is limited to cowboy and Indian movies. It's a childhood memory, I guess you could say.

in the '70s and '80s, Indian movies were very popular here.

A lot of movies were made in our country on this subject. Then the GDR made a great franchise based on the works of Fenimore Cooper. With Gojko Mitic as Chingachgook.

He's Serbian. But once it was a big and united Yugoslavia.

It was a very high quality movie. I seriously thought it was an American movie at the time, because I was very small and I didn't understand different languages.

This franchise was incredibly popular in our country. Also, I read Cooper as a kid. And not just Cooper. Mark Twain. I don't remember all of them.)

Except we don't make jokes about the male genitalia, so I don't know this one..... I've heard of the fertility god...., although fertility god... probably implies male power in a similar manifestation.

Oh, I forgot to tell you: we had Tom Sawyer in our high school foreign literature textbook. It had to be read without fail)))... not only read, but also retell the exact meaning of this work.

Bro, I've been dreaming about those Indians since school.))

There was a Tom Sawyer movie made in the early '80s. Man, that Indian Joe was so scary. I was very afraid of him as a child, when he appeared on the screen, I closed my eyes in fear.)))

I remembered, I was still reading Mein Reid's Headless Horseman. That was just as scary to read.))

I wish the Sun, I wish the wind to the boys who have long since gone to heaven
And to those who have not been there — I wish to be alive and forever young
It is too early for us to go there, to the heavens! It is too early, friend, to the winds of sorrow
It is too early to go into the clouds with gray smoke — which means, let's breathe deeply for now!

And while, mom — your son is alive! And while I, mom, am with you
My soul, mom — it is calm that wars will not start in our home!
My soul is white, my soul is brave — lead me through my life first!
To those who are worthy, who did not cost money — I built my own spiritual home
And there, in heaven, mom, they are watching how we live: dead souls or alive
Are we on the streets or with housing; don't smoke, mom, or drink
And you can't take my God away from me, even if they give you a lot of money
Even if you meet a cold shore — my love will spread further than yours
And I have beautiful views from my window. I have no time to fulfill everything in full
Not to go there forever, there... The trouble has passed. My luck is forever
The sea, seagulls and white-white sand; children in the streets without socks
I saw there. I ran there! I was with the boys and I had a shore
The end of summer, the beginning of autumn, and our Ural mountains will freeze again
And again, again I will die — and neither the end nor the beginning will be visible there
Wai! Wai! Wai! Brother, pour me some — pu-erh leaves and ginseng are the edge
New April, new May, if you are sad, brother — don't be sad

Hey! Up there, how are you? Salam. I embrace the sky, I fall at your feet
May the earth lie in softness, may it be. At the gates of Heaven, let them not judge you sternly
I remember! This is sacred! I am with you, my guys, and I will not let you go from my heart!
Just breathe, just breathe, just breathe
And if the clouds take you, just bye, just bye, just bye…
I remember how I hug, often cry, how I die, where I fly away
I remember how we loved, how we wandered, how we stole, how we laughed
And where there was no trouble, where you and I, divided our dreams in half
And when my Brother is on my way - I will go to the grave, you tell everyone there

I wish the Sun, I wish the wind to the boys who have long gone to heaven
And to those who were not there - I wish to be alive and forever young
It is too early for us to go there, to the heavens! It is too early, friend, to the winds of sorrow
It is too early for gray smoke in the clouds - and that means, we breathe deeply for now!

Are you at all familiar with this old cartoon, Sedan?

My family had this on tape and we watched it around the holidays, when all the cousins and family got together (over 30 years ago).

In the hills and mountains of Western Colorado and Eastern Utah, you can find countless stone drawings of spirals, those are crop plantings, people, animals and of course Kokopelli. He was a fertility god but possibly also a real man, raised to legendary status in the retelling of his story over the centuries. He was apparently a wanderer, a traveler going from place to place. Some say he had a flute and others think it was his erect penis. He was said to spread seeds but that could also be a reference to having many children.

I think he's a good spirit guide for those of us who grow things that make us happy and well!

Bro, the main thing is that you understand my figurative message!

I don't publish anything just like that, I put a hidden meaning into everything.

Are you at all familiar with this old cartoon, Sedan?
yes... you really surprised me.))

I'll say more, this is one of my favorite cartoons from my childhood. I was in love with this cartoon once!

My family had this on tape and we watched it around the holidays, when all the cousins and family got together (over 30 years ago).
30 years is a long time))

This cartoon. Released in 1970.

As soon as I started to think, I immediately fell in love with it. I remember very well now when I first watched this cartoon. It was shown on New Year's holidays, I remember the Christmas tree, all in burning garlands, the smell of pine needles remained in my memory, which I always associate with New Year's. This cartoon is shown on TV. I watched it, as if enchanted, these feelings cannot be conveyed.. the feeling of childhood!)))

There is also a series, it was filmed for more than ten years.

Bro, do you have relatives who are emigrants?

I think he's a good spirit guide for those of us who grow things that make us happy and well!
In the Russian Far East there are peoples who are similar to Indians not only in appearance but also in culture.

This is very easy to explain, in winter you can get from Russia to Alaska by reindeer sled through the Bering Strait.

1731064709841.png

This was definitely a migration and the Indians have common roots with the peoples of the Russian Far East.

1731064264673.png

Of course, they later mixed with the Chinese and Mongolians, but the roots remained.

Sedan, we’ve spoken before :-) My grandparents all came to the US from Ukraine after WWII. My parents were born in the US. Many Eastern Europeans came to the area to work in the steel industry and work manufacturing jobs after the war. There were so many Ukrainians that settled in the area - people, schools, businesses - that the area became known as “Ukrainian Village”. My grandfather helped to start one of the local churches, where myself and my kids were baptized.

I remember you and your story very well, Bro!

I didn't remember your avatar))), I navigate by avatar.

Also, I apologize that unfortunately we have a bit of a difference of opinion. But I hope the truth will prevail and you'll realize everything soon! I really hope so!

What's it like to work in the Ukrainian Village ? Is it a community or is it every man for himself?

))) Very interesting! Is this probably a Ukrainian sausage recipe?

dumplings with potatoes or baked pies?

dumplings with potatoes or pirozhki from the oven?

Americans have it a bit confusing here.)) I once watched the movie "Men in Black". There, two aliens went to a Russian/Ukrainian cafe
Caption in Russian: Good cuisine.

and ordered pyrohy.

1731323466613.png

But these are not pies, but dumplings with potatoes and onions and sour cream (vareniki )

1731323693617.png

pyrohy look different

1731323796748.png

Yes, vareniki is a national dish, both Russian and Ukrainian. Only Russians prefer vareniki with meat. They are called pelmeni.

And in Ukraine eat vareniki like this)))

It’s possible my spelling is wrong, and there are many similar things with similar spellings, but the way I spelled it above, its usually how I see them spelled in the US.

1731325434015.jpeg
Here is a picture from the website of the family-owned shop we’ve gone to for many years. Kielbasa is hanging! It always has a lot of pepper and garlic!

1731325717896.jpeg
pyrohy, like baba used to make - stuffed with potatoes, kraut, mushrooms, cheese, or sometimes even blueberries! Boiled, then fried, and served with plenty of carmelized onions and sour cream!

Everything is correct

In America, they say it like that.

I thought for a bit and realized why the emigrants distorted this name. Because the word vareniki is very difficult for an American to pronounce or remember.

Vareniki (вареники ) are essentially pies, only boiled.

pyrohy (пироги)

1731327753073.png

Is that what you call her?

She probably still remembers the Ukrainian language.

Yes, you are absolutely right, Bro! Dumplings are mostly with potatoes. Sometimes with mushrooms, sometimes with mushrooms and potatoes mixed in the filling. That's how my mom used to cook them. Served with sour cream and fried onions.

Yes, with cottage cheese it's also very tasty. Only then dumplings are not fried, but poured with melted butter.

Also berries: mom cooked with currants, strawberries, cherries, wild strawberries, raspberries, red currants... etc.

Served with sour cream.

This is a very popular dish with us.

But I haven't eaten much lately, because boiled dough is very hard for digestion.)))

Chebureki are also our cuisine. The dish was taken from Caucasian cuisine. Also very tasty, I recommend.

Chebureki are pies fried in vegetable oil.

Filled with meat or cheese.

Eh, Bro... it's a separate story here.))

Got into a funny situation where I can't think about myself, I have to think only about others now.... I have no choice. My health now... somewhere out there in the distance.))))))))

My mother-in-law is like a child of 2 years old now... she cannot be left for a long time, because she starts crying... she is scared alone. My wife sits with her all the time... she comes to see me for a few minutes, but not every day. It's a very hard ordeal for me: being all alone for 4 months, locked in an apartment..... I doubt that it will play favorably on my health, especially on my psyche! ))

I would like to at least survive all of this.... but there's no end in sight.
But there is progress with my mother-in-law, yesterday she was put on her feet for the first time, her legs used to bend. Now she is at least standing for a while. The more she regains consciousness, the more she is afraid that she begins to realize what position she is in, it is very painful for my wife to watch, she takes all her grief out on me. It is very difficult for me to live now... I don't want to wake up in the morning.))

But that's not all: my father lives with me, he is 85 years old. he has already gone crazy and all the time accuses me of stealing underwear from him... phew... not only that, he always calls the police about it.)) And I have illegal plants. I had to take away his phone and lock him in the apartment, when he leaves the room, I hide so that he does not see me and does not start accusing me again of stealing... underwear. Ugh, that's awful, Bro.

You can see for yourself that I only dream of health.))))))

man that looks good!
It's really a very tasty dish. The secret is in the filling. It has to be cooked properly.

There was a place in our town where they sold Chebureks... I have never had such delicious chebureks. There was a small stall with a line of 10-15 people, rich and poor alike, because it was very tasty and cost 30 cents. The chebureks there are amazing. When I worked in construction, I always had several sites around the city, workers on which I had to provide everything I needed, as well as to solve current problems at the site, which constantly arose out of nowhere. I was always traveling around the city, I had no free time, not even for food.... But when I drove by this place, I kept stopping and standing in line for 10-15 minutes. It's very hard to eat cheburek in the car, it's not a cheeseburger... cheburek is very juicy, not only you, but the whole car is greasy afterwards.))) But it is very tasty!)))

If you're in New York, come here and try it. But I don't know how good the chebureks are there.)))
