People on RIU used to talk about that a lot, mostly interspecies. I plan to do that to an American wild plum I have. I also need to go into the woods and find another one. This one had a mate that died and it can't self pollinate so it stopped bearing fruit. I treasure it for its eccentric shape and it's gloriously fragrant in spring. I need to install supports for winter. Ice storms are more responsible than anything for its shape.20241202_124815.jpg

We slept in the car at the Division Creek rest area just outside of independence on Saturday night, drove through the rest of the 95 up to Reno yesterday. Thought we might be passing you on the way, but I think we just beat ya up
That road is tedious, always end up behind a truck doing 55. The view of the backside of the Sierra's is amazing however.

I had a "Fruit salad tree" for awhile, planted it in the wrong spot and it got too big. It had two kinds of peaches, a plumb, and an apricot graft.

I have a cherry tree sapling that supposedly has 4 different kinds of cherries grafted to the same tree.
