When I germinated the seeds...I noticed they were too large to be pure Skunk as well. I took a whiff of tropical fruit and gas tonight that has me really excited for this. This has been a long time coming. I was always playing the long game.

One interesting note on these genetics and the parents....you can't get any of them anywhere anymore, not the real stuff. Skunk#1 from Watson, Willy D Firecracker, Pot of Gold and Kabul Baba from Flying Dutchman.

That likely is due to the masses that have done hybridization of skunk#1. For at least the last 20 yrs, everyone has offered a skunk. It's probably be diluted down so badly it'll take some serious efforts and many years to resurrect. It really is a shame what the cannabis industry has turned into. Greed is the root of all evil.

I think it depends on the line. I found sk#1 to be stable in the sense that you could tell a skunk plant from another strain, fairly homogenous, but you'd get big, small, better sweeter terps on some plants, some more compact like Afghani, but all having the same branching and basic terps. It wasn't as much of a spread as what I am growing now.
Also, the bracting didn't change that much, you'd get better ones of course, but all had bracts that were the same in size and in the bud structure. I'd say medium/ small bracts. And some plants were average. Some were more resinous. And some had cherry terps.

Like you said depends on the line the less selected and bred out the more likely it is to find something different the pure is very selected and bottlenecked as sexual stability goes the later 80s skunks were more solid than the earlier ones ime they aren't very sexually stable and vary more

U can every now and again derg corra sells a line of pog they only ones I seen selling it in decades there into preservation so most of what they offer is old school

Cool. I will look that up. I made a mistake in saying POG. The cross smells just like POG but there is no POG in it. That to me gives some creedance to the theory that the Flying Dutchman Sk#1 was the same as the freebies Skunk#1.

Seedheaven sells there seeds there based in Denmark should deffo get to USA ok as I know a few on here from there that already got stuff from them ok in the past they stock a few breeders derg corra bald man Mr d s gear etc it's handy for rarer older lines not super over priced either loads of freebies too just remember to add them to your order if there any you fancy before completing it

It's the other way around. Back in the day Skunk #1 was known to be smelling light and fresh and fruity to the point of it hardly smelling like weed anymore. It was bred during the probation years for stealth. Roadside skunk and that line genetic is something completely different.

It's a very stable genetic line and extremely sturdy. Easy to clone and grow and smells fresh and fruity. The effect is also great, not overly potent but very uplifting and functional.

Many things great yield varied smell taste and effects and as a breeding tool it has great combining abilities with almost anything it touches why do you think it's in everything pretty much cos most hybrids have it somewhere in there lineage

There's many variations of it I like cheese blues psychosis and skunk special as well there all older skunk1 stuff I prefer the funky stuff over just sweet myself each to there own I suppose many like the super sweet stuff

I've got alot of the funky pungent, gassy, sour, citrus, ect.... but the super sweet and loud fruity i don't. I'm not to concerned about odor, but a cultivar that doesn't reek like weed would be a nice addition. I know my wife would appreciate it, lol. She's constantly complaining about how everything stinks. Says she gets headaches, but I don't know if I believe that so much. I think she just like to bitch because I show so much passion for my garden.

And you just said why the Skunk#1 rocks because it a had rich sweet pungency but also was potent.

If you know anything about music and Roman numerals for chord theory...I like to think of the Watson Skunk#1 as a I- IV- V. A very powerful harmonic relationship. The Colombian,Afghan, and Aculculpo Gold are like the triad notes of a chord. The three individual notes together create a chord. The Skunk is landmark achievement in breeding.

I think the first round of seeds I made will be stable. They will be tested and not released. I am doing a second round of seeds using only the stinky male. And it really was a stinker too. Even after totally dried out it still had that stinky skunk smell. So the first round was a setback but this show isn't over yet, and I'm going to make these seeds. I started breeding because I wanted to learn about the plant. That was over 25 years ago. I think it's time to put some seeds in the pack and sell them. In today's purple candy gas world I'll probably offer these seeds as something for breeders and 90's genetics aficionados.

Does anyone remember when the Skunkman found the high THC male in the greenhouse in Holland. 23 or 25%. I can't remember which. At that time that was a really high THC number. A 20% sungrown skunk can get you high as a mother f*****. Way higher than a lot of 30% OG hybrids that don't have much entourage effect.

I fell in love with the skunk in the old days because the buzz was so good. The first time I ever had enough weed to smoke for years, I figured out that I could smoke the skunk everyday and never get bored with it. But the Northern Lights Afghan I was smoking I was bored of it in a month. Later I learned Haze is the key to a whole another door. There's s*** in these genetics that I'm doing right now that I'm really excited about. Just to smell the evolution of terpene development in these plants is magical. I think there's Hawaiian and Williams Wonder and wonderful things in there in some of these plants from the Willy D f2 , and then the whole different line with the Baba has me excited too. The Baba are primitive crosses compared to the lineages today. I'm looking for a rocking buzz here. Hope I find it.
