Gorilla Glue #4 Community Journal

I grew GG4 from seed last year indoors and out. I don’t have pics to post, as it was a mixed grow and I just took a few quick videos. You cannot see the plant labels in the videos so it’s impossible to tell which strain is which except in person.
The seeds were from Ethos and were S1’s. They were all very uniform, a little stretchy and all had a very similar faint gassy smell. The flavour is very much generic weed with a light gassy undertone, unfortunately completely meh . I would give those plants 5 out of 10, definitely the least potent ones of that grow, so turning them to hash.
By comparison, I had a permanent marker in the same grow that just kicks you in the face with its terps and has a very unique calm yet happy high, more like an 8 out of 10.
 
Sucks you had bad luck with them. While GG4 never seems to get rave reviews for taste and smell, buzz is usually rated high. At least, many of the ones on this thread. Many here are Josey Whales S1 plants. The Masters here like @Star Dog , @Laughing Grass and of course @curious2garden seem to have wonderful plants. I still have maybe 10 seeds of those S1's and I'm gonna try starting them soon. I have only posted some GG autos, but, these fine folks haven't kicked me out yet :) Welcome to the thread and RIU!

S1s are kinda like f2s and are always hit and miss unless what your reversing is spectacular and super stable and consistent which in cannabis few things truly are like ibls our definition of a ibl Vs the rest of the plant world is very different I would say luck comes into it as well you could pop 1 seed and find something great and alternatively pop 100 and not find exactly what your looking for as far as gg4 goes id give it another try at some point then if it's not for you then at least you know for sure

Yeah, I’m all about terps so maybe that was the wrong strain for me. I was really hoping for some strong pine. Of course the medicine has to do its job as well, but without really strong terps, I’m less interested,

You mentioned your GG autos so I should add that I just started a few Triangle Glue Auto from Tony Green which is GG4 RIL F4 crossed with Triks. In the same order I got some freebies of GG4 RIL fast auto F5 (GG4 RIL fast auto x GG4 RIL fast auto - Tony Green gear) from Adam and Eve organic autos.

I would be inclined to run GG4 again if I had a clone that got rave reviews, but clones are very difficult to come across on the legal market in Canada and I have yet to find anyone willing to ship clones from the US. Apparently a big no-no at the border.

Yeah, luck of the draw with seeds for sure, so I haven’t given up but I won’t be running GG4 S1 from Ethos again. I know they have a reputation for putting out top-of-the-line genetics, but they weren’t any in my pack .

As I mentioned to another poster, I just started some autos that are mixed with GG4 from Tony Green and they came with freebies that are GG4 fast auto F5. I will almost definitely be running them sometime this year as well. Maybe at some point I’ll get my hands on some JW GG4 or someone else’s version of it that’s top shelf but not until I’ve worked through these autos.

This has been my experience 100% I've kinda been sickened from them in general too many disappointing crops, that said I've had some great fems/s1 from k0rps so I know they can be very good, I've no reservations about growing his S1s/fems.

For sure who and how there made makes a big difference of course never ran his gear any I seen on here looks nice though if I remember right the lemon cherry gelato U got was his work ?

Yes that's correct bud it's his lemon cherry gelato I've got, I'm growing his slh atm and I've a handful of his crosses started for my next crop.

If only people like me could have a place to buy clones...I was gifted the seeds I have and I've seen some of the same batch yield some fine plants. I just hope to sprout a good pheno like the ones some others here have gotten from the same batch. Hell, I'll be happy to just be able to post some actual GG plants on the GG thread. If these don't sprout I've some Bodhi Space Monkey seeds that I'm anxious to run.

I don't think they'll mail them to where I live, and $100+ a cut for poor folks like me is not feasible. Thanks for the idea though. I live in a BS small town that regularly screws up delivery of damned near everything. I'm paranoid ordering anything but seeds here. Maybe someday.... I'm stuck pheno hunting here. But, that's alright. I have enough photo seeds to hunt for a while.
Edit: I've researched, and while they might mail them, it's illegal as shit to receive them here. NOT worth the risk to me just to say it's "original". I'm fine with seeds vs thousands of dollars in fines and possibly jail. It sucks living in prohibition.

I know you said money is tight, but maybe one day if you find yourself out of town in a legal state, you could have clones over-nighted to you at the hotel, then just drive back. I mean you're still taking a "risk" driving with clones and I'm not advocating you break the law, buuuuuuut.. for educational purposes, something like this would make it easy.

Edit: Come to think of it, you probably aren't even breaking the law driving with the clones because of the hemp farm bill. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in

If you have your hemp license, like my growstore guy, then you can have them here. It's a money racket honestly. I know people that have been busted with "THC-A weed" bought at 1 of these little "dispensaries " but they had it rolled in a joint. Cops sit down the road and bust you with a bowl or a joint or anything not in the bag you buy it in. The law here just bans "Delta 9" But if youre smoking it its "drug paraphernalia " BS. But, if I did find myself a couple states up, and could buy some, I'm not too scared of being caught coming back. I don't smoke in the car and that's what gets most people searched. But, yes, it's possible. I am just not at the point where I really need to just yet. Not for GG4 anyways. Now if I could get a great cut of Roadkill Skunk that might be worth it.
 
I hate to go off topic again,,,,, It just hit me that Easter this year is on 4/20! Sorry I even smoked the last of the GG4 auto just now..... was one of the better ones lol.

I gave my gorilla glue a little trim today, the root pruning a few weeks back didn't slow it down much.

I noticed a bit red in the leaf veins?
The environment is warm enough so idk they should be ok?

Maybe a little dry but not drastic, the humidity will rise pretty much daily now with new growth but tbh I doubt that reddening is humidity related however I'll keep an eye on it.
