Whats up everybody. Not to educated on this subject and would like some opinions and advice. I live in a apartment and due not want to throw up any red flags due to power consumption. Is there a super silent generator of some sorts or something equivelent? I plan on running a single 400 watt hps and a single 400 mh bulb. Not running at the same time but alternating between the two from veg to flower. Thanks for the help

if you live in an apartment running only one 400 watt bulb at a time is not even going to touch your electricity consumption youll be fine no worries

Change the bulds in your house to power savers. add up the wattage you save and it will probably be more than 400 watts. you wont even notice it o your bill, might even go down.

you wont notice shit even if you ran both at the same time.....just turn off appliances when not in use and change your bulbs in your house like they said...youll be good:joint:

Don't screw with that idea.. get some CFL's and change out a few reg. bulbs in your apt...then your power on those is cut by 75%..plus a 400w is about the same watts as a comp or two/ guitar amp..etc... barely noticable..where people get caught from power usage is mega grows where they're running thousands of watts between lights/fans..etc... I'm in an apt and I'm going to 400.. Luck

your electric bill will only go up about $35 a month if you have the mh on 18/6 and hps 12/12. thats not enough to send up serious red flags. also generators cost a lot of money in fuel to run and are noisy and release harmful vapors that you would need to vent.

I agree with everyone else about the generator, it's just not practical for your situation. A 400w light is not going to use enough power to attract attention. Smell will be a much bigger issue for you in an apartment, but it can be done.

A proper 400w will cost less then all those different gauges of extension cords and 8 hundred CFL's will...plus a whack safer...
