Hey can you tell me if I put orange juice in my res and I have kush growing .. would that be Orange Kush......? Should I strain the pulp so it dont clog the pump.?

what about bugs .. and the eggs they lay can they stay if they promise to pay rent ?

i want to get the tent setup from HTG also! how much smell does the tent let out when in full flower? would it stink up a hall outside the room you think? i want to have the tent in a closet in a room upstairs. pretty big closet and room, not tiny. any guess?

420- not fem seeds. just bag seed so i am praying! dangerous with only three plants i know...i dont want a perpetual harvest.

i think i am gonna go with the htg tent unit, 400 watts with a mh and hps that can be used at the same time. maybe just use mh for vegging and hps for flowering. i am not sure what combo of lighting would work best. rep+

Which tent are you looking at?

Have you considered building one? they are about as easy to make as wrapping a gift...

here is mine...

I have more exhaust than intake, so air leaks in to the tent, not out... and with a carbon filter... there is no smell 2 inches outside the tent...

But when I open it for any length of time... it stinks up my WHOLE HOUSE, upstairs and downstairs...

Carbon filters work...

You will like the HID lighting...

Have you figured out what style of grow you are doing...

I have very little need for vegging, so no MH for me... you need to decide what you are doing before you spend unnecessary money...

I say go with the 600 HPS in an air cooled hood... I recommend that because it is what I have and LOVE IT... my plants love it too...

I think you would be better off using "Orange Crush" for you "Orange Krush"...lol...

i thought the same u did, and i was gonna use cfl then put em in MH to veg them faster but MH was slower all around so yea ... CFL!

well cfl is what i am using for veg now. plan to go down to walmart and get a couple 6500k's in about a week. i want to make a hood because right now i feel i am losing a lot of potential reflectivity. anyone have tips?

so cfl for vegging and hps for flower. in your opinion should i invest in a better 600 watt hps as opposed to the 400 watt convertable system?

Gypsy- I am worried about the smell. This will be done in an apt. Is there anyway to conceal for certain the smell of the growth? It will be done upstairs. The apt is about 1300 sq. Ft.

How many plants are you flowering to get that much smell? The most I want is six. Two of each: white widow, and two strains yet to be decided. I think I might do a "you pick my strain" poll on here. Most votes is what I grow.

I wanted the 250, talked my self into the 400, when I ordered the light, I choose the 600, knowing that I will never need more than that, but if I ever decide to grow in a room or walk in closet, I do not need to UPGRADE

It is all about the light... HIDs have way more intensity, they penetrate within the leaves deeper...

But I only use it too root clones... very light vegg... The T-5s are way cooler and cheaper to run...

HPS would be the second best, but the plants will stretch just a bit more, which is desirable when doing lollipops for SOG style grow.. you have stout tall clones...

I have a 600 switch-able ballast, I just didn't spend the extra cash for the bulb... I like to keep my options too, I may decide to grow big bushes and then I would use MH... no need to upgrade cause I got this one...

Don't skimp out, buy the right shit, so there is no issue or need to upgrade...

I grew 4 plants that were 6 INCHES TALL in a hotel room with no odor control... anytime my door was opened during late flower, I filled the ENTIRE PARKING LOT with the stench of mad skunk...

Yeah... these things stunk up a whole parking lot...

So just make sure you get a filter and that you run negative pressure inside of your tent... you want air leaking in, not out... right?!

The only air escaping your tent should be doing so through the filter...

And yeah! you will save A LOT!!! by thinking about it first... every growspace is different...

You need to see everyone's set up, and adapt parts of each into what works for you...

If you have a crop to finish still, the first thing I would buy is the light... as you will be able to use it now...

If you know you are in it for a 400 HPS... just go out and get yourself a 600, and end the story... lol... or a 250, but no less, please.. lol...

Ah! I get that a lot...

I was in that hotel for over 200 nights, due to medical reasons, so I was moved in pretty good...

It was easy to convince management that I should clean my own room, to avoid anything weird... since I had waaaay over the normal amount of personal stuff in there...

So they just didn't come in at all... but everyone knew what was going on anytime I opened the door... they just turned a blind eye...

Yeah I am gonna get the 600 watt hps. I want a nice big yield to last a couple month.

My closet setup is perfect! I just finished doin some major work and will have some pics up in the next few days.

As you will be able to see, I built a step up wall to provide a closed in space for vegging.

I put some laminent down over the carpet on the floor (well, what's left of it) and pland on hanging the hps system there from the ceiling. Well I will let the pics talk fpr themselves soon enough

You see the slightly lighter color of green? Just doesn't look very lush like the rest of the leaves in some places? Anyone know what that is?

Also in the pics of plant #2 leaf discoloration, notice a reddish-orangish-brownish hue to the leaf. Anyone guess what it is now that they have some empirical evidence? THANKS!!! GROW BIG!!!

i doubt i need more nutes. i could potentially have a nute lockout problem but i doubt it cause the ph is 6.5 right on.

i am using a miracle grow soil. stupid, i know. in addition i am using fox farm. so i am not sure how i could need more nutes. thoughts?

i kinda wish i got the 600 for flowering,
but i still belive cfls are better for veg as you can get them closer to the plants and spread them out more.
combined with a good hood they should provide better light than a single MH hung in a center position

Sorry mate, NOTHING will compare with appropriately spaced vegging with a 600 or a 1000 watt Metal halide...

I understand what you are saying... but I still disagree...

A HIGH INTENSITY light will penetrate WITHIN the leaf much further than LOW intensity lighting... regardless of how many you have...

They just don't pack the punch...

But as I stated before, you can do some very practical vegging with Fluorescents... but it is not better than HID, not at this time anyways...

My opinion... just that...

But regardless... it seems everyone is accomplishing what they want, and that is what counts....
