1) How can I control the smell? ( i have a carbon scruber bit the fan is too loud. out of the question.)
2.) i'm going out of town from tues To fri. i seen some ugly pics of over watering, but should I do it if the 400w MH will be shining for the next couple days? Girls clones bout 8-16 inches.

search for the $3 carbon filter thread. pretty easy lookin to make and will hopefully work great. you can get everything u need (like 3 things) at walmart. havent used it but am going to need to in a couple weeks.

i made one. it works for a very small set up. one like you would have for a rubbermaid container. the best possible way to get rid of smell though is ventilation. vent it to your attic or outside somehow and the smell is taken care of. if its a closet grow and vent is out of the question i would get some sort of masking agent and try that carbon filter. if that doesnt work your gonna need that carbon filter and vent fan cause thats all thats gonna take care of it.

im in an apartment and get my intake thru the window and i was thinking of just exhausting the air out the door of the room and into the apt. theres no exhaust at all right now, just intake. but i was thinkin of the 3$ filter for that. i have 7 plants under a 600. u think the $3 filter will be enough for me?

thanks you guys. site info would be good. I have a sweet ass filter and inline fan but the noise is a prolblem,, is this stuff your talking about quite?

homie i got a 400 hps with 5 plants at the moment and its about to be more. and no that lil carbon filter won't work for it. i vented mine into the attic. if you vent into your apt, the entire apt will smell like your buds. and be very very strong when they bud. you might want to put the out-take through the window as well. get some vent tubbing and get a vent fan thats quiet enough for you. then your smell will be taken care of.

nvirgo - you can buy very quiet inline fans that you dont even know are on half the time cause they are so quiet. but they are more expensive. if you want one like that with little or no noise your looking at least $150 but it will do the job very nice. good luck with your smell. but remember --

THE BEST WAY TO TAKE CARE OF SMELL IS VENTILATION TO THE OUTSIDE.

into the rest of my room lol. i flower in a closet. i got a box fan blowing towards a vortex fan. i place them on the rack inbetween the two. the vortex blows the air towards the corner frame fan which blows out the room

u could use the diy box for noise control of the fan and use the scrubber a real scrubber is the best to control the smell but u could use an ozone generator thought there are concerns about plant and human health but can be used saftely they work pretty well for smeel control too

and how far into flower are you? im just asking because you have no pressure forcing the air through the EZ carbon filter. its gotta go through the panty hose and then through the carbon and then back out. i just dont see the air going through it to be able to catch the air particles. so if your in the early stages of flower it would make much more sense to me. otherwise i just imagine that 90% of the air would just go right around it.

sorry, i'm back in town... i over watered befor i left, and that was all good.. i purchesed a lysol thing that sprays every 9 min from wal-mart.. when i came home i could smell her. but, I am getting ready to transplant and start flowering... i still need something that wont make noise and gets rid of the smell... that diy carbon filter is cool but i would need to blow air through it some how? i need quiet and no stink.... also.. i'm making a trip to the store to day for soil--- What should i get.

sounds like the guy just needs a different fan for the carbon filter he already has. Have you tried a computer fan? I hear a lot of people on here talking about using them. Most are pretty quiet
Ive heard nothing but good things about fax farm ocean forest. Every time I got to my hydro store the owner tries to sell me the stuff. I get some soil from a local worm farm and its only 12.99 vs foxfarms 19.99-24.99
Just go into the store and ask for the best organic soil they have and they should point you in the right direction. If they ask just tell them your growing tomatoes

i heard those are only for micro grows. i dont use them because it doesn't make sense to waste money on a little ass fan that barely comes across any air
