I thought you could only use the MH during veg.. and HPS during flowering ... If i get this HPS then it will be my primary source of light.. if it works then ill get it now

mh is more efficient in veg. If it made a difference to you, you could run less watts of halide to veg equal to that hps.

i dont understand.....is mh more effecient because the light is more towards the blue spectrum???,,,4 vegg......because arent u sacrificing lumen for that transition...there isnt any bulbs i can change for the hps system.....1 for veg..1 for flowering???

I believe this is the way it works....

MH (Metal Halide) is best for veg and is in the 5700K range... VS. HPS (High Pressure Sodium) which is best for flowering and is in the 2700K range

With this particular setup that i just polled about.. and bought... there is no interchanging of MH & HPS bulbs... however there are many types of bulbs out there

I think I can answer your qustion... I believe there is a HPS & MH bulb made into 1 light bulb

also check this "CONVERSION" bulb out

I think you are right... you can use a MH bulb in a HPS ballast and vs versa... but you must get the correct bulbs to do so
