Wait until you get to One on Hard. The first couple of minutes it's not so bad. Then it gets a bit hard. Then the tap solo comes in, and you lose. Then you realize you actually have to go into practice mode and slow it down. Then you say, "well if I wanted to practice I'd play a real instrument". Then you smoke a bowl, decide neither is a good option, then play Barracuda cause that song rules!

hahahaha. my step dad and mother have guitar hero, they jam out to foghat and several other "legends of rock songs". but basically it always comes dow n to the
"well if I wanted to practice I'd play a real instrument".
and my stepdad usually responds, "Shh, you hear that? theres no crowd when i just pluck a few strings, but here im a god!"

i respond with "Welcome to video games..."

hes not big on games neither is my mom, but both of them are totally in love with their wii.

Ha ha! Enjoy the game, I hear it is really addicting. Not that any of US would be prone to those, eh?

Got my oldest a Nintendo DS with the Zelda game, and she has LITERALLY played it for about 16 hours strait, before I MADE her eat. I am not sure she even went to the bathroom....... And sleep? No need.

What's even more frustrating is when you actually play the instrument, and know how to play the whole song in real life even, and you get to a part in guitar hero and you can't play it. How does that work?? :?

that does sound frustrating. i know he(stepdad) can pluck a few chords here an there, but i guess it doesnt have the same "goal oriented" playability as the game does, so i guess that frustration of not being able to make the crossover is probably where he derives most of his fun out of the game

^^ bwahahahahaaa, ask them if there eyes go funny when the look away from the screen :D

Hehe. We have some unopened presents under the tree. My daughter was playing and mentioned that earlier on she thought the presents were falling over...then realised it was her eyes. She's eleven. Our youngest (10), plays regularly (she has the game at her father's place as well) and puts us old folk to shame...
...there is something a weird about seeing a kid rip through 'Paint It Black' or 'Black magic Woman' on medium, while us old folk who know the song can't make 95% on easy...

....of course, I haven't wasted ALL of my time on GH3. I also have a 4WD that I'm tidying up. bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie

 :bigjoint: The funny thing is... I understand what you just said.

I don't know which one is my favourite... Paint it Black... La Grange... oh, I might just have to practice some more.

No... never!! :-P

What I want to know is how I can play this game at all?? I mean, I really REALLY tried to learn the guitar when I was younger, but ended up deciding that I am just musically defunct and doing the right thing... saving the worlds' ears by giving up. I have no hand-eye co-ordination and I have a really hard time getting my two hands to do separate tasks... I have carried this feeling of deep disappointment over my lack of musical prowess for a very long time. :-( :-P So how is it that I can remember where to put my fingers and when to strum on a bloody pretend guitar? Oh, the TV... that has a little to do with it, I suppose...

i dont really indulge in the game myself..we call it the "old folks fun box" because my parents are the only ones who use it.
Now, listen here, Sonny Jim...
:finger: ... I'm a guitar hero!
You can't take that away from me....

Yeah... she was just worried that someone might be good enough to beat her. Now that she's determined that none of us are in her league she's comfortably playing on hard. Now, that's pretty impressive for a 10 year old. She's using 5 fingers, got double and triple notes nearly all the time, and they're so close together... her little fingers are just a blur ... if I ever get that good, I AM going to learn to play for real!! :hump:

Ok then... maybe I should just save some money, stop deluding myself and just enjoy the game...

It is kind of fun though... and yes, I feel the energy rush from the crowd as they scream their appreciation of my musical prowess...
