Yeah I just started to be able to see a touch of lime green yellow in the middle of mine as well. Mines about 6 days old and isnt growing to fast. I just made a new grow box for it with the mylar blanket stuff on the walls and Going to go get at least 4 27w 5500-6700k CFL's (only have one 13w 2700k CFL right now) that and switch to a bigger pot with MG time release nutes. Should start to really grow after that.

Right on man, I'm happy to hear the light green is normal and not just me. Lowes has a 6pk deal on those for like 8 or 9 bucks. if you got a few power strips laying around you can always fit more in there. I think I might end up with 16 by the time I'm done. lol

i would recommend 12+ lights and have atleast 6 of them be 42watts or higher to get good yields. The power strip light setups are nice. There was a thread on how to make a reflector for those, if u cant find it ill explain how to make one.

Yeah, those are surprisingly easy to build and it's a real simple idea. I started with that but I decided I wanted something that I could use for the sides of the plants, as well as having some at the very top. maybe i'll post some pics of my set up. I think it's more convenient and it doesn't trap as much heat.

if i can find a 6 pack at lowed like you say then I will go for more than 4 probally 12+ like said above. Curious to see how this goes.. just wish the thing would grow faster lol at least so i can see if its male of female. o well this just a experimental grow here.

As for side lighting, I used 2 - Outlet- to-Socket adapters and pluged them opposite each other in a regular 3 outlet extention cord. It makes a horizontal bar thats perfect for side lighting and easily moved. It Looks similar to the lower illustration

I get what your saying, I have a tall grow box's each plant get its own, about 4ft high, Im thinking of hanging the power strips vertically on all 4 sides of the plant and using the outlet to socket adapters. That way the plant gets equal light top to bottom all the way around.

Here's the diagram of my setup. It's not the best but it's working for me. I really wanted something that I could expand and shrink based upon the plants growth so that's why the sides are adjustable and angled downwards so all the light is pointing towards the plants. The light fixture is a 18" square peice of 1/2" MDO with 4 holes drilled in each corner 3" in so the lights are a total of 12" away from each other. All the lights are in the Y socket fixtures and there's a "fixed" power strip that has 6-8 more lights plugged in to it in the center of the MDO board. I like this setup because I can raise and lower the lights on the outside for the side lighting while also being able to light the top of the plants with the center strip as well. Everything in the closet is covered in mylar including the bottom and the adjustable side pieces. I think this will end up working pretty well because it allows better air flow to the lights as well as the plants and I can always change out the "fixed" strip for a HPS light if I wanted to and not have to worry about losing any of the side lighting. Also I can always add some sides to the board if I wanted to (Kind of like the setup in the buds4less book)

NOticed today the leaves were a little droopy so now I have no idea whats going on. is it normal since there's no withering or discoloration. anyone?

Dude, ur worrying to much. Your babies look perfectly healthy. Keep on, Keppin' On, given em what they need and i think youll do great. Besides im locked in for this one so feel free to pick my brain and to ask around the forums. I wanna see some Purple, lol:weed:

You guys were right, the only adjustment I made was I raised my lights a few inches and when I woke up this morning they looked fine. I guess I'm just being a little over protective. Ha!

My closet room temps are getting up to around 84-87. I have two 6 inch fans on the plants and a regular 18" fan at the top of the closet to help move the air around. I usually open the closet doors for a few hours to let cooler air in but I don't want to sacrifice the light. So with the fans on the plants, do you guys think I have anything to worry about? Or would putting a 6" exhaust fan in the ceiling be a good solution?
