Hi all, I have my first grow going, 6 beautiful Blue Chesse plants grown from seed. I am trying to get a couple of females. The tallest is 22", the rest are right around 14". Anyway they are in potting soil, under a 400 watt grow light. They are 40 days old from seed. I assume another two weeks and I should be able to sex them, right?I figure the plants need to turn into there sex on there own, right? Do I need to be adding nutrients, they are still veging. I have B.C. Bloom nutrients for my hydro, can I use that even if they are in dirt? I pinched back the tops on all plants, hoping to keep them shorter, and to get bushier, right? Should I have started to pinch them back sooner, or is that going to hurt them? The outdoor temperatures here have been totaly subzero for almost two weeks now, and my little plants are just as happy as can be under the lights. It is just wild to think of these situations! I am trying to keep things simple, I love growing marijjauna! Can anyone help me out on these questions? Thanks, Cybro:leaf:

hes still vegging, I would actually tie the main stalks down to promote side growth then you will have more than 1 main cola..... also if you are at day 40 something I would think about switching soon... did you use ANY nutrients for veg?? I would also wait for a member w/ ALOT of knowledge to answer the hydro nutrient question you have

Thanks all, but I don't want to induce flowering, yet. Or do I need to , to determine sex? I thought the plants would gender when they are ready to. The whole point of this I thought was to get a mother plant. Thanks.

you cant determine sex until after you start the flowering period. once you set the light cycle back to 12 hours on and 12 off, they should start showing sex within a week or so. males show sex first usually. you will notice little sacs forming on the males, and little white hairs on the stem internodes on females. there are pics posted somewhere on this site on what they look like, will post if i find it.

let it go until sex appears before flower. ive doen for awesome mother. it works most times hwoever it USUALLY DOES

if your looking for what i think you are.....let her veg until the piltols appear, give her 36 hours DARK serious dark to induce veggin....i did 24 last adnd worked perfect....that let the light schedule stay this lets the plnat know its flower time and youll see the first flowers in 3 days or so.....

peace. good luck.

let her rock on....what you got 18-6? did you 24-0 at all?
