HELP, not sure what the problem is....

Hey, I have 7 plants that are all anywhere from about 30- 15 days old and all of them are showing the same problems. The bottom leaves all starting to yellow and dry up, and now leaf tips and blade tips are starting to turn. I didn't think much of it at first and then it got pretty bad quickly, im real worried about them...

I know it's probably a nitrogen def but I just wasn't convinced and wanted to see if someone could confirm it or let me know what it is. I started giving them FF big bloom in small amounts and now at about 1/2 strength. Should I just give them full strength? BTW im using a mix of top soil, perlite and peat moss, the guy at the plant store near me told me to do this and sold me like 2/3 a bottle of BB and said i'd be fine, so idk. Im thinking now maybe its an overall nutrient def...could this be right?

well i've used the water before and it worked fine all the way through harvest, but what did you do to fix it?

took the water softener out of the loop and flushed ..my leaves were getting dry and brittle after the flush they greened right up i still haven't added nutes they are just as dark and healthy now next watering i'll add just a little they are in flower now or just molasses still waiting for the soil to get dry enough

I think 1/2 strength is too much for them. Don't give them more. They are still little guys.

The spots and the yellowing are probably from your pH being out of whack and locking out nutrients. Do you check pH? You need to.

This is an opportunity to repot your plants with better soil (about 40% perlite for drainage would help). Go with 1/4 strength on the nutes until they look better.

I have never checked my pH, but my last grow went great and i'm using the same water, could the pH have changed? Im gonna check it with pH tabs...that's all i have. Thanks

ITB is your soil verry damp are you letting it dry? over watering can be bad also

nah def not over watering it, i always make sure to let it fairly dry. I just checked the pH of my tap water which is what I use and it was lower than anything on the chart which is 6.2...thats all I can say for now

test the water that runs off your plant through the drain holes see if the prob came with the soil

Lock out is the same thing as nutrient def. more or less right? or it at least shows the same signs. So if thats true it could just be a nute def. instead of lock out right? The only reason i don't think its lock out is because i've used the water before and never had problems.

the only thing that's different this grow is the soil??? and the fact your feeding nutes so soon .something is wrong i'd go with things that changed from the last grow

I don't nute til 3 weeks have passed man. you can't give a baby crack!!!!! got to be patient and when i do its a few drops of joy juice per gallon of waterboy juice and some hydrogen peroxide.

that wood mulch in ur soil is making it way too acidic-ur ph is probably less than 5 judging by ur photos. they dont look good bro-
add some fine dolomiet lime to the soil to buffer ur ph. probably need to flush with properly balanced ph water and resume feeding at half of 1/4 strength.
too much nutes, way off base ph=ur plants
listen to the consensus of the posters here. u cant feed them nutes until u correct ur problem. nute lock, nute burn, nute deficiency-u have them all. those prob dont even need nutes for 2 weeks or so and why would u give them bloom if they are vegging?

maybe the guy at the dro shop thinks u r growing tomatoes.

-remove that shit on top of the soil.
-mix in some fine dolomite lime into the top layer of soil-$2.00 bag garden center
-medium flush with distilled water- $1.20 a gallon-ph of it should be 7.00
-measure runoff ph of water
-add some more lime to soil
-feed with 1/8 strentgh VEG nutes immediately-dro shop-get FF
-measure runoff
-plain water next time around-distilled ph 7
-measure runoff
-DO NOT OVERWATER
max feed 1/4 every other time for 2 weeks
brush them

Thanks, I didn't think I should be using the big bloom cause it says that its not for veg, but idk the guy said i'd be ok, what should I use, grow big?

grow big works-ur dro guy shoud have a hydro ph test kit with drops, ph up and ph down for around 15.00. walmart has em for aquariums but not as good. forget the soil probes.stop at home depot and get the lime as well.

Ya thanks a lot, you guys have been real helpful...Smokeybandit, I imagine the test kit your talking about is like one you would use for a pool, if so how do you test the runoff water, wouldn't the soil change the color...?

the ones for fish tanks will suffice-u can put s coffe filter over something to cath or runt he runoff through-the colors from nutes would be reddish usually, but mostly clear and the drops r green or yellow. someone may have a better idea for testing ur runoff-im a hydro kind of guy
