I was told this carbon filter MAY not be any good compared to a can filter.

Will this work for atleast my first harvest ??

I hope so. Just ordered the 4" version of the same thing. I have a closet grow going where I vent to the attic, so I thought odor control was not going to be important. Things got a little pungent toward harvest time and I think it is better to be safe than sorry.

What size is your room? To find out what size you need just multiply L x W x H = cubic feet divided by 5 and that will give you min cfms needed remember that adding filter will cut that down by at least a 1/4 of your cfms going big is never a bad thing

Is that directed to me? I know how many CFM fan I need and my room is 8x4x9. I just want to know if that carbon filter is effective at removing all odors. :bigjoint:

Yes if you use a filter and your room is light proof which means its probably air tight then the only smells youll get is a little bit when u open up the room but as soon as you close it it will be fine just make sure its vented to the outsiDe or to a larger space

I would of course add some air fresheners to help with the occasional leak! When building my room, 7 x 7 x 9 , that was my #1 concern, that and being quiet, you will be fine with a filter. My buddy grew out of 2 rooms in his house with no filter and about 2 - 3 weeks into flowering u could smell it before you got to the front door! Bigger is better!

I plan on building the space in my garage, and venting the exhaust/carbon filter into my garage as well.

Sound efficient?
