i meant for an eastcoast apartment. nice idea thoughsolar panels, make a wind turbine, make a bicycle genorator
when it's recharging wouldn't the lights be off? or does it begin to use from the outlet? and now that i'm thinking about it, in order to even be efficient, the recharge would have to require less energy to recharge than the amount of output of your lights no?Maybe one of those computer power-out backups would help a little. It's a rechargeable battery supply for computers that provides power when the electricity goes out. Just have a timer with 30 minute increments set to turn the power of for a half hour every hour so that the lights run on battery for 30 minutes then the battery recharges for 30 minutes. In theory it would reduce the power consumption to half the time. It's called a UPS> Uninterruptible Power Supply. Hopefully this helps?
makes sense, and what about the question i just edited?I recharges the batteries will still providing power to the built in outlet...
You can create electrical energy from potential human energy. It depends on what you call "efficient". I think if i can ride my bike( besides to school and back) in front of my tv and generate 200 watts of power, i think thats efficient. If Humans werent ignorant and selfish fools, then YES, EVERYONE would have a bicycle generator in their living roomUnfortunately, you cannot create electrical potential from nothing, so the IPS would do you no good at all, it will in fact use more power than the lights alone. I would say your best option is to USE LESS POWER. There is no solution to create an efficient DIY source of electricity. If there were everyone would have a bicycle generator in their living room.
lol that's wild. what about getting a converter for a car battery to a 3 prong socket and buy another car batter and keep switching off? sounds like a lot of work. and would the energy be sufficient for atleast a day?You can create electrical energy from potential human energy. I said you can't create electrical energy from *nothing*, and potential human energy is *something*. I was simply saying that running an UPS would not save him any money on his bill, only make it worse. About the 200w from the bicycle theory, 200w ain't shit unfortunately. So I don't think everyone deserves to be called ignorant, sefish, and a fool for not wasting their time. What is that, enough energy to run 3 sixty watt incandescent bulbs and a phone charger? Plus, that would only be while you were riding. Sounds inefficient to me...You can create electrical energy from potential human energy. It depends on what you call "efficient". well i am an optimist. 200 watts for me is enough to keep my greenhouse lit with a 200 watt bulb and a diy light mover when there isnt 12 hours of light. whats efficiant to me is shit to you, i dont really care. I was trying to help someone with their question.and 200 watts was just one output. you can get as much power as a car going 60 will put out. so as much as a car inverter will put out ( ive seen them up to 7000 watts). No, you are going to sit on your ass and be a hateful, belligerent, judgmental stoner who thinks he is holier than thou. And obviously you're crazy if you think lighting a fucking greenhouse with a 200w bulb is going to do anything. Whatever, I make the same claim as you, I was just trying to help someone with their question. It gets hard when people get completely irrational. Well I'm not going to let you ruin my morning, I'm going to have a shower and a cup of coffee. I've got better things to do...well i am an optimist. 200 watts for me is enough to keep my greenhouse lit with a 200 watt bulb and a diy light mover when there isnt 12 hours of light. whats efficiant to me is shit to you, i dont really care. fuck that, right? im not gunna waste my time to build something to create power and get excercise. Im just gunna sit on my ass and be a steryotypical ignorant, lazy stoner.
