massive fan leaves

yea ive been stuck for a couple years on this topic, i dont even know. with my next 400hps grow im doing, i was thinking maybe cut leaves on 3, and leave ALL the leaves on the other 3, but the plants are always different sizes anyway, so it is almost inconclusive. my last grow (outdoor) all 3 of my plants got within 2 grams of 35 grams a plant dry, so maybe it might work. if i try that ill make another thread just for the experiment.

hey wiggles..a good way to create a control group for your experiment would be to grow your whole crop from clones off of the same mother

Dam!!! Caulkass started a circle jerk. Stone Casting Jerk. It's MY turn to call FDD names. "Fucking Awesome Dude", Super Budman", etc. "Intelligent" is in there somewhere. OK, Fdd, here is the question; Was there any slight regret that the inside canopy buds being smaller, that the thought of trimming may have increased the yield? Also, people, it's not a yes or no action. Same goes for topping. It's a balancing act, should you start butchering things. Cutting the legs off of Kids isn't a good thing, then you have to carry them. Mutilating a plants makes as much sense. If there is more than enough leaves to gain proper photo., one or two at a time removed can do no damage. But allows more sun/light to baby growth denied the needed light to become all that it can be. The other thing to consider is the balance between the root system and the growth of the plant. If the plant outgrows the root system, you've got problems. But no harm is done if the rood system is SO healthy that it can absorb more than the plant needs, which allows faster growth, which allows fan leaves to be taken in moderation without causing stress. Remember, one cut fan leaf causes 2 more to do the photo. shit. In the meantime, light gets inside to new growth. And the Maples stop bitching that the Oaks are blocking the sun, for a week or so. The FUN part is playing. When in doubt, listen to FDD. For Caulk ass, Miracle Grow kills microbial life in the soil, which causes a plant to be on a bad diet. She may look wonderful, but the bad diet denies her Her full potential. Frankly, I don't give a shit about strain, yield, etc., only the start to finish- including curing, to create the very best for the Lady. The rest is auto.

i'm pretty sure those leaves are holding nutes. notice when you do your final flush the leaves start fading. they are feeding off themselves. they are using the stored nutes in the leaves. this is why you flush, because the leaves store nutes that you don't want in the end. maybe pluck all your fans leaves at 2 weeks to go to help with flushing. but they would flush faster so maybe plucj them all at 1 week to go. i'm making sh*t up now as i go.

yes sir, we have a co-op, our partner does mothers, clones and vegging at his place. and they will all be off the same mother the first 6. there are 3 mothers, grand daddy purple, pot o gold, and skunk #4

bad advice...its a settled matter... my plant is going great... i've yet to use flower booster...but ill share some of my pics from today.....all my nutes are in the chicken shit fertalizer. ..no nookie from the wife...doesnt she smoke the dank with you? my plants in the 5 week of flowering... still fan leaves remaining... the bottoms starting to catch up with the rest of the plant.

socal Is that a clone? How tall? It seems with your plant that it doesnt have any side branches. My point is in my experience(I'm no expert) with a clone and very little side branching it doesnt hurt to take off some fan leaves. Hell your trying to get a ig bud on a stick anyway right? But if you are growing from seed and letting the plant grow big(indoors), It is best to leave the fan leaves. I am not going on to the whole photosynthesis thing. When you cut off fan leaves the stem dies out and you run a big chance of losing any side growth. Overall reducing yield due to loss od budding site.

about 28 inches...not a clone...it has side branches there tucked in...thats why i cut the fan leaves in the middle...its indoors at night,,i set it outside during the day... there budding pretty dam good though.

fdd I gotta ask do you use any nutes or do you make it all into your soil. What I mean is when you plant do you already have your nutes(organic) mixed in to where you just water?

socal Gotta admit it looks pretty good. I think whatever works for an individual is what is best. I mean I am sure that certain things will be argued till the end of the world since things have been argued from the start. I.E. to top or not to top, cut fan leaves off or leave them. I personally feel that if you are satisfied with your results why does it matter. Everyone should be open to one anothers idea without taking offense though. I mean all the knowledge we have and read has been comprised of people sharing knowledge. If you get frustrated at someone pack a bowl,bong,hookah or roll a joint, spliff, blunt whatever your preference and chill. Everone needs to get ready anyway it is coming up on 420 p.m. here anyway. lol

true true jayrock.... and fdd im not ghetto..i buy my blunt papers lol i dont dump tobaccco.. get that nasty taste in the paper... the only beef i got now...is the little white bugs.. that turn yellow when you squash em..a couple on the leaves..anybody got a remedy?

oh and as i was saying earlier, my last grow of 3 plants outside, we started pulling fan leaves right before this, which is, i think, about week 5/6 of flowering, and pull/cut any leaves with a stem. and this is what it looked like ::::


PS. I LOVE BLUNTS! breaking an original swisher open, empty the contents, filling up roll, light. saves on lighters/butane/environment and they dont go out like a joint does. bongs kill my lungs, although i have a 14 inch steam roller 2 inches fat, that is perfect and gets my loaded. but i still prefer blunts, smoke at least one a day, except today..

orgnl were you happy with the results from the plant? If so thats what matters imo. I dont see why at the end of flowering it would matter. Kinda seems like you would be making it pull nutes out of soil rather than leaves though. Maybe I am just stoned. It is a good plant though.

orgnl is it me or by pulling off the fan leaves, did it just make the bud leaves bigger. If so seems they supplemented for lack of other storage area.
