Its too cold to snow...
As I understand it no real THC in males cuz no flowers. I have read on here that THC is in leaves of plants in flower, so using leaves to make butter, and the butter to make your brownies. Of course some or all bud would be best.LOL .not even if I take them off. What about trimmings instead of hash make brownies
Males contain THC, make no bones about it. Not as much as a female, but THC nonetheless. As I understand it no real THC in males cuz no flowers. Same Topic: At what stage of the flowering would it be good to keep the leaves for making butter? Is using leaf drop OK or just trimmed leaves. Will the butter end up tasting like lawn clippings if use too much leaf? How much is too much?

I assume by drop leaves you mean fan leaves\sun leaves\shade leaves. That being the case, can you use them for butter? Shmaybe! It depends on the strain you're growing, some will have next to no crystals on the fans even late in flowering meaning its probably not worth it. On the other hand, some strains the fans are pretty much saturated, meaning they're great! Use your better judgement on that one. I'd imagine you could negatively affect the flavour by using too much greenery without much THC, however as long as you strain out all the solids it probably won't be the end of the world.
In my opinion you cant make butter too strong, just make sure you dont eat too many cookies\brownies\garlic toast\whatever it is you decide to make.
Thank you both for the info. So basically if I don't have trichs on the leaves it probably is not worth my time? And yes the "leaf Drop" I was referring to was "fan" leaves that fall off on there own.Take your hand and slide a leaf between two fingers. Is there any gritty or sticky feeling left on those fingers? That could be trichomes if it's not just dirty or something. Once you have wiped the leaf that stuff is gone though so don't molest him.
You don't understand pigment. Yes a high gloss paint has what looks like a layer of gloss added, but that's not what makes paint shiny. The higher gloss a paint is, the finer the pigment (basically clay). Flat paint has very coarse pigments, they do not lay down evenly and under a microscope you can see flat paint is extremely rough in texture. Eggshell or even High gloss have MUCH finer pigment which allows them to lay more evenly.Shiny paint (gloss or eggshell) has an additive in it to give that sheen. Just because you can see a shine doesn't mean it's more effective than flat, in fact quite the opposite.
The white in the paint is the only thing actually reflecting the spectrum. The light has to pass through the gloss first, then reflect off the white then reflect back through the gloss. You loose more light with any amount of gloss in a paint at all and it actally makes a pretty big difference. It's like light through a window vs straight light.
Plus gloss white hot spots as you said.
There is ample evidence like what I said in the last two paragraphs that flat white may in fact be superior period in how it reflects light compared to mylar but that would have been too controversial and there is not enough scientific evidence of direct comparisons in grow situations that I'm aware of to support my taking a firm stand on that without having to argue that to death, so I didn't claim it at all originally but did now only to try and explain more of the how and the why.
You can even add some very common additives to make flat white even more reflective than it already is, but that can be quite troublesome...
If this is correct the ideal flat white and ideal mylar and ideal foylon are within 2% of eachother even if nothing else I said were true.i like how this guy thinks! ^^^
this is out of jorge cervantes "marijuana horticulture - the indoor/outdoor medical grower's bible, p. 188. it states the following--
Reflective Chart
Material Percent Reflected
Foylon 94-95%
Reflective Mylar 90-95%
Flat White Paint 85-93%
Semi-gloss White 75-80%
Flat Yellow 70-80%
Aluminum Foil 70-75%
Black Less Than 10%
So you can use aluminum and still get fairly good reflectivity but all in all paint or mylar is better. and as for hot spots -- ive used foil before and never had any 'hot spots' but mylar def works better -- if you need some cheap just go to hallmark and get some cheap mylar reflective wrapping paper for 2.99 instead of 50.00 for a big roll.
Note: do not follow the "skinning a plant" link!!!! Just read through 7 pages and no pics to back anything up! I feel cheated!excatly -- i think there r better things to test. anybody read the post of the guy that chopped his plant down to a stick (no leaves), and it lived? said the vegged cola's liked crazy. https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/106645-skinning-entire-plant-worked-awesome-7.html i know its just like planting another seed and letting it regrow but my point is thats how strong this plant is. it is called weed for a reason. middle easterners dont like it because the goats wont always eat it -- and a goat is a lawnmower!
anybody ever tried to graft marijuana to another plant? or vice versa?
