In an interview with The Associated Press, Cheney also said that Bush has no need to apologize for not foreseeing the economic crisis.
"I don't think anybody saw it coming," he said.

No body saw it coming, which is why Ron Paul was warning about it for at least a year before it happened?

And there were other people, economists, investors, that were saying housing was in a bubble.

Politicians... the only use they have for their skulls is shoving them up each other's asses.

There are people in Vegas walking away from their 400K mortgages and walking accross the street and buying the same house for 175-225K. This literally happened in one housing tract.The guy was carrying his personal stuff accross the street. Houses in my tract are going for little more than I originally paid, 20 years ago.

$400,000 in my area will buy you a single story, 1200 sq ft home built in 1965 ... and not in good condition. Three years ago, the same home would have cost you $650,000.

400 is average in a 50 year old neighborhood, "some repairs needed." 3 bedrooms, maybe. though that was last years market.

Man that's INSANE. :oI'd hate to live where it cost that much for a small house. My house cost me $101,000 , it's 1650 sq and in great shape. I bought it 3 years ago & today it's worth about 125,000, because the housing market in my area has actually seen a raise in value even in the middle of this mess + the updates I've done.


How Barney Frank kept his committee chair is beyond me. They should have relieved him of that post as soon as this mess started.
