Will this work for starting my seeds?

I have been having trouble getting my plants off the ground. I was wanting to know if this would work. If I fill some 16oz cups with 60% FoxFarm Ocean Forest and 40 % perlite, and then after two weeks, transplant to the same mix, but just in 1 gallon pots?

this be a good start?

Once my seeds crack and have a good 1 inch tail in my germination container (ziplock storage bowl) Some even lose their seed by that point, I use tweezers and drop them into my 1.5 inch deep pencil sized hole in my beginning container(16 oz black solo cups) and give them a light watering.
I have a 100% success rate like this. I set them on the floor of my grow closet until they sprout (usually 1-3 days) then once they sprout, I move them closer to the light and give them an ultra fine mist twice a day to keep em moist. The fan stays on them full throttle.

i soak mine in water for 12 hours then place them in soil with perlite inside a heated propagator, keep the soil moist and humidity up.

Yes mate that should be fine.


If your having trouble germing try the paper towel method.

Just get a paper towel, dip it into some lukewarm water then squeze it out a little so the towel is not soaking and then place seed on paper towel then put another moist luke warm paper towel over top of seed so the seed will be inbetween the 2 paper towels.

Then after that, place the paper towels into a air tight container, then place some where warm...

maybe a hot radiator, or router etc

with this I have had the best germ rates possible I think :D

I also forgot to add, once you see taproot, then carefully use some tweezer to transplant into some pre soaked soil, then get a get or pen, measure out 2cm or so, then make a mark on pencil with a knife or something so you can see how deep to push into soil then drop seed into hole, cover it up, then give it a quick mist and put some cling film over top of pot or place in a humidity dome
