These are my first grows. I'm using 26 watt CFL's and Miracle Grow Organic choice potting soil and alot of people told me not to use the soil but they look to be doing great to me.....let me know what you think

cfl's are fine for vegging, but you need a hps for flowering

CFLs are fine for vegging and flowering, but a HPS will yield better.

oh yes they do. metal halide i heard is better for veg but i still use HPS. conversion bulbs are expensive and all i have is the HPS ballast.

there is a guy on here by the name Oregonmeds. he showed me these 20 dollar 150 watt HPS wall mount systems complete with bulb and ballast. i looked for the link but couldn't find it, but you could message him and ask i guess.

Here's the 150 watt HPS. They have no $20 ones any more, but the $25 ones are pretty much the same.

These lights are a great deal. It's just a shame that people in the UK (ie: me) can't get a decent deal like this on HPS lights.
