I was wondering
Is it morally acceptable to kill someone in self defense or in defense of a loved one in mortal danger going by the morals of Judaic religions like Christianity and Judaism ("thou shalt not kill")? Also, would you defy those morals even if you were devoted to them (I assume..or hope most will!)?
What if your loved one was an animal, such as a dog, what would you do to someone who killed your beloved companion? Where does this fall on your moral compass?
I'd like to hear religious and non religious people's thoughts
