Hello, I'm new to the forums. I have smoked bud for most of my life and I am getting in Hydroponics. One, I'm tired of dealing with the drug world. Two, I want to grow my own badass bud that I can smoke for free and store whatever when I run out of supplies:mrgreen: . Three, I get to see and learn how to make my plants produce better bud each time I do it:blsmoke: .

I have been reading up on this "PC Planter" by sunlightsheds. It is a pretty cool system and I think it would be perfect for growing my few dro seeds(white widow, big bud, and some random swag seeds). It looks like a computer but really is a grow box! I figure I can grow two 45cm plants in this grow box with ease. What do ya'll think? It's simple and comes with everything, nutrients, ppm meter, ph chemicals, foliage spray, ka bloom nutrient, and ona odor block. I think its like a 400w light that comes with it. Vegative stage. I might invest in a flowering stage light as well. Any people ever had experience with this "PC Planter" and know if it is a good investment?

I checked out the PC Planter , and it looks darn cool..but it's prettty expensive (~$600). If I had that much money to spend, I would invest in something else.

Ya, but what would that bea nd how big was it? My problem is space and stealth. And thats the coolest thing I've seen and it looks good. Thanks for the reply!:peace:

dude, I think it would be great to try it. personally I would try to make it myself, but not everyone is like me. a word of advice; do not plant the bigbid. it will never fit in there. PEACE!

If you got the $$, I say go for it! ...especially if you need stealth.... does look like a sweeet sweet setup...

I wish I had $2,000 ...I would spend it on the "Cool Cab"...that would be perfect for me...

I have a PC Planter (you can search for PC Planter to find my other posts) but i'll repeat some of what i have to say about it.

Before I share my PC Planter experience with you, i should add that I am no expert and don't claim to be - but I do have experience with the PC Planter.

My first (and best) bit of advice is - don't waste your money! I have had the thing for over a year and have yet to harvest anything. I have thrown out many healthy looking males and my latest attempt does have a female but that is one female plant in over a year of waiting, waiting, waiting. And since one of the things hydro is good for is speed to harvest, the growth rate is very disappointing. I am two weeks into flowering and only one of the plants is showing any signs of sex (luckily a female ... so far). I say so far cause I've also had quite a few hermaphrodites. I am not blaming the planter for that but it does have a lot of light leakage.

In a nutshell, here is why i recommend NOT buying one:
1) Too expensive - you could build one easier and cheaper and most importantly: better
2) Too underpowered - light-wise - a 50wt MH just doesn't have enough gusto
3) limited to two plants at a time

That's not to say my experience has been all bad - I've learned a lot and it is still fun to see a little seed grow into a nice bushy plant but it just doesn't produce enough for me. Maybe if every grow produced two females but unless you have a mother - that ain't gonna happen. And if you do have a mother - chances are you won't be using a PC Planter to grow her offspring!

My advice is to take the 600 you'd spend on this and use it to buy some 400Wt HPS/MH ballast/bulbs (dual-spectrum or switchable) and build the rest (box and hydro) - or spend a little less on the lights and buy the hydro system too (but there are some great DIY plans on this site and elsewhere).

So the bottom line is build a good system centered around the lights. that's what i did. my guess is you'll be happier (and higher) more often!

Growing your own is almost always a better investment than buying off the street.

figured i'd just share my experience. i have had a pc planter for about 4 months and i've done pretty good. my first round i let the ph get a little crazy, but my cycle times have been around 50 days and i've got 2.4oz my first cycle and 2.8 my second. I was using big bud seeds i got from my older sister. i use it just for myself...given i was working from clones so i didn't have any male issues...but it DEFINATELY grows 2 plants QUICK! i had some good results....so long as you follow the video directions you should be good. I know it was some money..but given what i've produced so far i'm happy with my purchase...

damn smokergrl! i knew i had a brown thumb but you didn't have to rub it in and make me jeolous in the process! :-)

seriously, i'm glad you had success and to be honest, it looks like my latest crop is going to be OK (but it still doesn't compare to my other system).

Not sure about others, but to me - the important thing is to have fun and enjoy the hobby.

All I know is that my bro-in-law has a bad ass state of the art computer with liquid cooling, etc. His tower(case) is gigantic. But, I cannot imagine even one plant growing in there with space for light, etc. Very low yield in my opinion just due to having to prune the shit out of the plants. I agree with having stealth, but use a little ingenuity and create a space that will be worthwhile.

i built this cab for about 800 bucks (including cab $300 and light $200 and fan $100) this is a estimate as i already had most all the stuff to build it, it took me about 3 days it holds 2 ladies in 2 dwc 5 gal buckets. the whole platform raises up for easy water changes with ratchet hangers. taking that much time to grow plants is just not worth it for 3 zips IMO. this cab cost me about 200 more than that case and am looking for 8-12 zips on the first run with a 400w mh for veg and hps for flower, everything goes off with the light timer besides the o2 pump of course. entire cab runs off of a single 15a circuit with ease.

I will be more than happy to help you out on any aspect of your grow. Just let me know. If you want i can even build you a grow case, that is just as advanced and stealth as mine, fro a decent price. Iv sold several cases before, and have gotten lots of great feedback.

Iv figured out a few great techniques for light proofing and maximizing stealth on these pc grows.

If my price is to steep for you i will gladly assist in helping you find all the supplies, creating the design, and preforming the build.
