i tie my thermometer to a string and hang it so its at the same height as the plants. especially impotant with HIDs. then u can tell hexactly how the plants are feelin

thats how hot the bottoms of ur plants are. the tops of ur plants are closer to the lights and hotter probably

I put it in the shade somewhere, down where the pots are. Dont let the thermometer catch to much of your lights is what ive been told.

just experiment man. figure out what works for you. i mean, its only gonna make a few degrees differnece probably, which doesnt matter too much. each person has their own situation and their own thoughts on whats best.

im using 3 daylight 100 watt cfls for my 4 5inch cups which usually is not enough light but still have a heat issue, i belive my grow box is to small the deminsions are 15 inches high and 10inchs wide, its my box just for the first 2 weeks but already it seems to small for the heat going around

Is the top of the box sealed. Man I thought my last room was small and that was 1.5 by 2.5 feet. 6 foot high with a 600 HPS. Have you a hole in the box for air to get in and out ?

well theres a 6inch wide by 2inch hole in the bottom left and on the front of the box is jus a shirt so air should be coming in through both
