I'm 32, I started smoking when I was 15. I smoked from 15 - 19 pretty much every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was up to smoking almost 1oz a day. When I started college I stopped smoking. I was completely smoke free for 1 year. The end of that year I smoked with some friends, 1 hit and I was BLASTED!! I got stoned as all hell and stayed stoned for almost 6 hours.
Then I didn't smoke again until I was 21, exact same thing...
Then I didn't smoke again until I was 24, exact same thing...
Then I ddn't smoke until I was 28. Guess what.
Now at 32. I just started smoking again. Actually bought for the first time since I was 19 for a very special occasion. Afterward I had a 1/4 so I figured I'd burn it once a night until gone and then I'd be done.
After 2 weeks I've decided to stop. I won't smoke every day, hell probably won't smoke every week, maybe even every month. I fully intend to enjoy to the fullest each and every time I get stoned.
I think of how much cash I was going though smoking almost an oz a day 13 years ago and want to cry thinking of how much I spent especially knowing that 1 hit will turn me to a vegetable today. A 1/4 so far has lasted me since Dec 17th and I still have just under 1/8 left. Now I don't think I've taken more than 3 hits in a sitting and I still end up blazed for close to 4 hours still.
So just over 1/8 and I've gotten 3 friends higher than all hell as well as my wife 3 times, and me several dozen times on that tiny bit.
I've been sober since MLK day when I wake and baked and I think I'll stay that way a while so I don't build up a tolerance.
One of the lessons I learned from being a teen was that moderation is always best. I have no 'real' need to blaze like the medicinal people. I just want too. Technically if I lived in Cali I could get a scrip either for my migraines or my congenital insomnia, but I've lived with those for 32 years and don't see a need to medicate specifically for them. So I'm happy being a casual smoker and keeping my tolerance low.
As far as growing, how else do you get the best strains? Somehow I think that buying 1/4 every 60 to 90 days won't get me in good enough with anyone to score some top of line stuff.
That's why I'm retired, I'm like that old guy who has money in the bank but still works 1 day a week at Wal-Mart as a greeter just to get out of the house.
