im having a lil trouble rooting my clones im using a 400W mh but its just to much light. I hear that clones need warmth and not much light to root. Now im wondering would a t-5 bulb be better than a t-12 for rooting or would there be no difference?? just to root nothin else because after they root back under the mh. i alrdy have a t-12 ballast but buddy broke the bulbs accidently :S. im gonna use the t-12 for the time being but really just lookin for some opinions if its really worth upgradeing and if its so much better about how many days would it save me more than a t-12? thanks.

Well, for rooting, you don't need much light. Fluorescent light is best for this, IMO. Make sure they have a humid environment. Other than a humidifier or perlite, I've found that putting the bottom half of a 2-liter bottle really works well if you have the space. Hope this helps!

i guess i overreacted these clones a lil bit. i did throw away like maybe 5 cause they were dying/molding. I got 14 left though and out of those 14, 11 of them are rooted ;). But im defininently gettin those T12 bulbs today to test out them for the clones. If i dont like them i will be gettin the T5s. Hell i might even just sell the halide and switch to just T5s, but right now moneys tight so i can only dream.

I use 2 25watt CFL suspended maybe 15 inches above the top of my clippings. I find this gives them the best light.
