"Organic" MG help +rep4help

So needless to say I went against what most would recommend, and I went w/ organic MG. Well I'm starting tomorrow.
I'm just wondering, how much perlite I should add? I went w/ the MG perlite as well. Is there perlite as bad as there soil is suppose to be?
I would also like to know if I could add that dolomite lime myself? Do they stock it at hydro stores?
If I do get the dolomite lime, how much should I add?
I'm starting in 18 oz. "Solo" cups btw.

enough where it drains good,wont be much in 16oz cup,why do you want to add dolomite it should be close on the ph?Just a fellow texan trying to help.Do you have a meter to read ph?The mg perlite also has nutes in it too!

I've just heard great things about dolomite, like you can't really fuck up PH cause it will just keep it in check no matter what. Is that true? If it is, that's why I want it. As far as the perlite you don't have a mix you use: like 3 parts soil 1 part perlite, or anything like that? That's what I was gonna do, but I'm not sure if that's too much perlite.

I have been growing for many yrs,and just ph my water and have no complaints.3 to 1 is fine but you said a 16 oz cup!You can really not overdo the the perlite,ever heard of the hempy bucket 3 parts perlite to 1 vermculite and no soil at all.In my hydro system i did use a ph buffered nute mix.

Ok, now that we've established that I don't need dolomite. What should I use to PH my water? I havn't tested my tap yet, it could be just fine. Is 6.5 ok? I also have some hydro PH balance, well it doesn't specifically say "hydro", but I used it for my hydro. It's in powder form. Will that do the trick?

make sure it isnt the organic stuff for gardens. you cant use it on indoor plants or they will burn.. really burn...

This is what I have. I don't think it's meant for outdoor gardens

Just don't feed it until you see a deficiency. The reason MG has such a bad rep is that people treat it like normal soil. MG has time-release capsules of nutes in them. So if you treat it like normal soil, your plants will get the nutes your giving them and the nutes from the soil and will burn baby burn...

75% organic potting soil then use 25% perlite. you may want to look into using the organic bat guano's. there are high nitrogen guano's for vegging and high phosphourus for flowering. best organic nutes i have used.

I use MG soil as well with good results, I use 1/3 perlite mix to 2/3 soil and thats it, nothing else added here. I would suggest against using it as a seed starting soil though, it has a much higher chance killing your baby or at least burning it then a seed starting soil.. which I also mix with 1/3 perlite.

i think you have the right stuff there. the organic mg i am talking about burns without adding any nutes.. it is meant to be mixed into a garden outdoors. looks like you are safe there because it is mg potting soil. i think the other stuff is mg organic garden soil.. apparently a huge dif!
