How can I seriously humidize up my space?

Its a wardrobe measuring 45cm by 85cm by 170 high

The humidity is usually around 25% with lights on and thats with a large try of water and a soaking wet flannel right by the plants, lights off humidity can go up to 40 or 50 but as I'm in veg I'd like it to be 50% when the lights are on.

Do foggers work? Can anyone recommend some sort of machine that they have personally used?

I am in the same situation as you and just ordered a cool mist humidifier so hopefully that will do the trick for me, perhaps you should look into purchasing one, I got one for $25 shipped..

Do not mist your room with lights on, you will blow them up. Put a pail of water in there, add a strong aquarium bubbler and perhaps a small aquarium heater to get the water at like 80-90 degrees if you need to. The water will evaporate slowly and add about 10% humidity to the air. Make sure your room is at at about 80 F so that the water can be transported in the air efficiently.

I am in the same boat... my humid stays around 25-30% (lights are on 24/7)

I need to get my humidity up.... i bet a humidifier would work but i think they are like 100 bucks + @ wallyworld

if your in the us you can go to the cvs and get the vicks vapor fogger thingy just dnt use the madicine in the tank and prolly best to point it away from a hot light and use it when lights out maybe have it on a timer to come on b4 lights on and go off b4 lights on

well I got my humidity up from 20% to 38% last night because I did laundry and hung all my sweatshirts to dry in the closet with the door shut, haha. Now I guess I just have to do laundry like every three days so that it stays that way...plus it smells good in there too haha

I'm using the vicks vapor. Right now for me, It's just a temp solution. I don't get much rise out of it. maybe 10%, but my incoming air is only at 16% and my other device reads LO. It wont even read it! =) Summer time, it's totally opposite.

Got a humidifer at target for 26.77 plus tax! it's perfect you can set the humidity you want in the room 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55. My humidity used to be at 20 when the lights turned on and 35 when they were off. Now it stays at 50% when I set it to 55% humidity. Its a cool mist humidifer DONT get the warm mist cuz it will make your whole house nice and toasty. The best thing about this humidifier is that it helps keep down the temperature!! Great investment would recommend to all.

I am wondering the same thing, I just ordered my humidifier and have a 150w HPS e-conolight running 24/0 and didn't even think about the moisture affecting the bulb...any thoughts anyone?

I added a $26 walmart humidifier to my intake, and it doesn't seem to really do too much. I'm imagining this is because my exaust fan is pulling so hard that the humidity goes right out. I'm going to build a closed system, which will hopefully help.

My question, though, is how the CFL's blow up with cool mist. Does that occur when the cool mist is applied directly near the CFL's? I assume its OK if you use the cool mist to humidify and cool the air flow right before introducing it to the system?

the talk of exploading light was probably more directed at the hid user
cfl's dnt get as hot so may not cause a problem



put your exhaust on a temp. switch so you can build humidity until the room hits 80 than the exhaust comes on and cools it to around 71 than shuts off and build humidity again you can go to the lowes or home depot and get a attic fan temp. control switch just getting that may help and if not that in conjunction with a humidifyer would make it a jungle

Again, just a warning, make sure the mist does not get anywhere near the lights.... nowhere near... Although rare, the bulb can blow up...

No cool mist type humidifiers are just evaporative humidifiers. They don't actually put out a mist. The ones that put out a visible mist are ultrasonic and don't work as well for grow room applications.

A cool mist humidifier will just raise the Relative Humidity of your whole room.

It doesnt mist the air, just throws up humid air, if u put ur hand above the fan then u might feel a drop or 2 but not much...
