"medical" marijuana

hey all, just felt like getting something off my chest. I'm not even baked for this... kinda going through a drought.

Do we really need to call it medical? Sure it has more medical qualities than anything man made and there are truly people on this earth that marijuana greatly increases the happiness in their lives. Mine for instance . But it just makes me happy to be smokin, growin, takin' care of my babies. I just don't want to see marijuana become "decriminalized" or some other bullshit that would allow medical dispensaries start popping up and me not having a med card not being able to go try their shit.... It kinda sounds selfish... when i look over it. "Screw all the people that actually need to smoke that good stuff... I should be able to try it too!" Something like that anyway. If marijauna is going to be open to the public then it should be out there just like alcohol. Governments could make alot of jobs having to grow all that weed. Wish it was my job.

On a side note.
Paranoia and weed. I hear from alot of people that these things go hand in hand. You want to know why? Cause they obviously aren't comfortable being high where they are. All I got to say to this is just remember that it's just weed! It won't kill you or give you cancer like those other smoke sticks. So stand proud when you're high and shout it out wherever you go "I'm high on weed! And proud of it!"

for those of us that have been around for a while, it never was about the herb's medicinal qualities. it was always a simple matter individual liberty and the arbitrary ways in which government seeks to use totalitarian measures to limit the freedom of its citizens.

an initial promise of the fathers of this country was that the fledgling government would not restrict its citizens' life, liberty or pursuit of happiness. there was no reservation for the way we may choose to pursue these aims and government's various prohibitions are contrary not only to the spirit, but the letter of the law. when government seeks to limit the freedoms guaranteed its citizens, it is the duty of those citizens to regain those rights by whatever means necessary. the fact that we deem it necessary to use the end run tactic of "compassionate use" to regain our rights only shows how dependent we have become on the very government that seeks to enslave us.

the lie of the ballot box and the opaque nature of politics have rendered the people impotent. our only recourse is to either rise up against the political animals that threaten our liberties or to deny them the funds to further wage their war on our freedom. either choice is revolution and either choice is uncomfortable.

If oil extracted from cannabis can cure cancer, then I'd say it has some pretty good medical qualities.

Getting high isn't as much fun when you need to do it to function.

I believe we should continue with medical marijuana to provide to those that need it and use it as a stepping stone to full fledged legalization.

yes..as long as the feds are still getting involved with true medical users rights then we shall still call it medicine...

and as for the second statement...weed does cause paranoia it has nothing to do with your comfort level of being, it has to do with the hallucinogenic properties in cannabis..fact.

mmj is no stepping stone to legalization. medical use only further restricts availability and places more layers of bureaucracy between the public and our herb. we are talking about a substance that has no deleterious effects. its healthful effects are on a par with fresh air and water, both of which are medically necessary and neither of which are on any controlled substance list.

I hear what you're saying but I'm more pragmatic. Do you really want to keep medical marijuana away from those who would suffer without it, until the war on pot is won? I'd like to think that having medical marijuana users in their midst would help to counter the Reefer Madness that perpetuates the prohibition. This is why I see it as a stepping stone.

OK, well I guess that after reading everything that I realize I don't know anyone that needs mary-j to function in everyday life. It's never been something that I've made it a battle for myself to grow this stuff so someone can try and have a regular life. Always just smoked it for fun. I am not trying to say that medicinal dispensaries shouldn't be aloud to open up, just that we should have straight up "dispensaries" for everyone. I'm not pushing over any wheelchairs fdd2blk! I think it's pretty obvious that in today's society marijuana is known as a "substance" much less harmful than alcohol and yet it's still illegal.

I know why and have heard of many reasons why we don't want to make it legal or just decriminalize or whatever. I just want to fight to be able to grow and smoke this fine plant and for whoever else wants to do the same in the future. I truly think that our world would be a different place if it was not considered an illegal drug.
