Watering question for my specific grow

I was thinking about an outdoor grow in the mountains of Utah which are fairly dry. I was planning on lugging a 65 gallon water tank to the site with a gravity feed irrigation drip system off of it that I would have filled with near by creek water once a week, but then I was reading how over watering is a very common mistake which made me think about just watering the 200 plants manually once a week. What do you think would be the better route? Keep in mind Utah is dry but creek water would be near by (a couple hundred feet lower in elevation though).

dude do water tank...make it automatic with the battery operated timers for the water hoses for garden hoses..and if you wanted you you could even but a moisture meter in there soo i would shut off the water with the soil is already wet..or you just time it soo its waters the plants once every 2 to 3 days in the morning on a slow drip system...

this is what i will be doing...and for the water tank..they make collapsible ones out of heavy duty canvas or plasic..soo you dont have to bring in a big one...

So you think just letting the 65 gallon tank constantly drip out all the time with no timer would lead to over water? I mean it's 200 plants at 8,000 feet in a dry mountainous environment with like 1 drip every 10 seconds.

Orange Shovel has a good lay out. Check it out. My though is a bit simpler. From your holding tank, run hose to each plant. At the end of each hose, connect a shut off valve. Shut them, fill tank, open each valve real slow until you get so many drops per second that you desire. Adjust each valve, independently, until all drips is the same. Then, time how long it takes to water the plants, how much water was used. Then, you'll know how much water to put in the tank every week or so.
Drill holes and place wing nuts to attach top to tank, so that animals don't get into water supply. Cover tank with cammo, brush, whatever.
